Amaterasu I am going to produce a separate thread for the slang, some good laughs to be had here...I have moved with family to Tokyo and will have more time to post as Dad and Mum will be allotting more taken to Tokyo family stuff? (Off topic just, info only).

Amaterasu & Josh have almost mystic control of their emotions and coupled with Yoda like wisdom?????wait a minute though, remember that word ?infatuation? ?crushes for crinkles aka ?the aged?.. Don?t think that you will never be ?infatuated? or you are too ?well glued? to fall for natures little peccadilloes, I would put up my Utada stuff against one day cupids crossbow claiming another helpless Utadanet victim?.

Professor Hawkins, the man is a genuine ?academic one off?, and totally unfazed by being wheelchair bound , his ?brief history of time? has opened a new world of ?Star Trek? stuff for millions of the likeminded, science doesn?t ?float my boat? though , no disrespect to the ?Picard and Riker? members of Utadanet?
The ?crush? the girl had and the consequents on the teachers career was a closed subject at the time, all I can fathom from the mayhem, was the utter selfishness my friend has towards the whole sorry affair.

uote:
When you're older you dispense with crushes and you go right into the, "I'd tap that.", "Mmmm. I'd plow that until the cows came home.", "I like - how much?" phase.

What?!!!...Guys where?s the Romance here, would you honestly suggest to a beautiful date after a candle lit dinner ?fancy a plow? or ?would you mind if I gave you a right good tapping???you know, I overhear this sort of stuff at College?.?that bird is going to experience the full force of my blue veined hooligan??.?I?m heading conkers deep with that treacle???That?s getting kicked that off the stand soon ????

Now GIGAcorrupt, seems more sensitive, still guys really don?t admit to have a pucker serious crush, the:
?It's not that I'm bad with girls...its just...I don't know. Its a bit complicated. Because I found myself messing around with girls alot. As in kind of making them think I had a crush on them, but I was just in it for the fun...then I'd move on to the next girl???.

Has a sort of guarded acceptance that Guys do have feelings but mixed in with a ?look at my six pack? vibe, also theirs an endearing quality to ?I was just the type to admire from afar??pray this doesn?t require the use of high powered binoculars or setting up of a complex hydraulic telescope.
I am impressed by the honest open comments though??

I enjoy mostly how humble he is - wait, moreso than that, the man is clever and has a sense of humour. Yes, you should not dis Trek - because Hikki likes Trek. The books also (dissapointingly) does away with Time Travel and humans travelling at warp or moving faster than the speed of light. But geniuses have been wrong before.

Ha! How absolutely novel. Some of those expressions are just so alien, and yet so, so quaint. We need a slang thread indeed.

Romance and courtship seem to be a thing of the past. These days, it's all about dancing, 'hanging out', or just going to the movies. Getting a girl flowers, being nice to her - being polite and considerate gets your heart broken and then you get shat on (as in deficated on.) It comes with the evolution of society, and the slow breakdown of morality and gender roles. We're on the brink of a new kind of age - for better or worse is not yet for me to decide.

I'll just stick to "I'd tap that." (actually, it's just for the sake of conversation, I'm totally unlike your typical guy)

Come think, in this late hour, it is POSSIBLE for an older person to have a crush. You have the hots for them, and then you see nothing short of only their good qualities, and then you 'fall in love' with them - or the image of them. I suppose that CAN happen, and perhaps even DOES happen to people young and old. I suppose people just treat it differently when you're mature. Then again - sweaty palms, general nervousness - perhaps it's just universal.

Societies in general have a habit of breeding macho-men, and it is incredibly emasculating to admit having feelings. If my friend cried during a movie, I'd say, 'Dude, do you know how I know that you're gay? Because you cried during a chick-flick. That's how I know you're gay.' ^__^ Not to say that I seriously think that his heterosexuality has dissapated, but it's a common tender point that we men enjoy prodding with each other. Sociological norms, gender roles, stereotyping, conditioning - what have you - it all works towards this conclusion: FEELINGS ARE GAY. Oh, I just remembered something. Click the following link:

In the spirit of candidacy, in the last five years, I've spent my life in a restaurant without a social life. Absolutely none. So the possibilities of developing any sort of fancy, lust, or crush on a woman has been removed from me. In this respect, I've been rather thankful.

I've watched so much Star Trek that I have convinced myself that Vulcans are cool and that emotions are "Most Illogical."

You know Josh - you are one of those members on this board that have always, to me, stood out amongst the myriad of Stanley faces. Such wisdom in your youth. It's so becoming. Always a pleasure, it is, reading your posts. More importantly than realizing one's limitations is the will to push beyond it - a stagnant human is a failing human.

Wow really?? Huh wow.. I never thought someone would admire one of my comments. I thank you for such words of kindness.

I suppose it is true how there will always be somebody in the world who will like you. LOL this crush topic is what thats about!

First slang thread tomorrow

It?s mostly first year graduates that try to pick up everything in a skirt, male, female, sheep , cattle, the odd goat, normally after playing the drinking game ?snakes and bladdered?:
http://www.drinkstuff.com/products/product.asp?ID=4132

I have only ever been to the college ?commons bar? once, literally guys ?boiled as owls? staggered over trying to stand but best efforts was dribbling heads attached to swaying carcasses, to then collapse down uninvited beside us, and through ?halitosis hell? ,(bad breath), a combo of chicken and lamb donner ( kebab) 8 pints of ?wife beater?.. Stella Artois and Diamond White Cider followed by 10 or so vodka and red bulls, so to come out with gems like ?If you were a chicken, you'd be impeccable?, ?Is there a rainbow today? I just found the treasure I've been searching for?, ?If you were a burger at McDonald's, you would be McGorgeous?, and the truly gross ?If you were a boogey I'd pick you first??one guy ?barked?(sick) in my hand bag once, no kidding my friend and I had ordered our drinks, just about to go to the ?beer garden? and the guy appeared and tried to say something and next minute?arrhhhgggg?in my favourite hand bag?I really lost my temper?

Most of the time I frequent our local pub who lets me play Utada, some evenings normally Wednesdays or Thursdays, but they don?t tolerate drunken behaviour.

My older friends tell me that they have ?crushes? they obviously don?t use the word ?crush? but Nina told me that when she met her husband ?it was love at first date?, she had dated before so it was not as if she was ?silly naive?, Nina could not explain it, so romantic, and yes he brought her a little gift, not expensive or flash, something small, Nina has never told me what this gift was, it their ?little something??

Maybe Romance and courtship,(one of my Mothers favourite words) is a tad unfashionable, and I know Guys who have been treated appallingly by their girlfriends who show honesty and respect and are called boring in return.
The link is ironic, a dry English humour appreciates the satirical wit behind the message lol?

I know Hikki is a confirmed Trekkie, Picard is mentioned lyrically in TITO, too much bewildered amusement.
Are you a Restaurateur?

Josh is enlightened Guy, no doubt, he will be snapped up before long, cupids arrow is not far behind humility, it a rare quality .

Yes, Pips - I have the horrid lifestyle of 'he who owns a restaurant'. Meaning.. 'Hell in a Handbasket.'

In North America, a "Wife Beater" is this:

http://images.google.com/images?client=opera&rls=en&q=wife%20beater&sourceid=opera&oe=utf-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi

Kindly made prominent by the upstanding uneducated white men who partake in drinking excessively and then follow up with a good bit of cardiovascular excercise with their significant other.

Being romantic, charming and respectful - traits in the past that helped men have become 'yesterday's news', and is generally frowned upon by women. As for 'boring guys', we all know that women are now gravitating towards 'broke-ass', welfare-taking, lying, cheating dirty scumbags. Yours truly is making his best effort to undertake these same desireable and irrisistable qualities.

Thank you for the lesson in Briton slang. I should look some of those up. You should have used your purse do deck the same bloke right in the kisser. That's disgusting. All of your belongings. And what belongings! I'm constantly surprised by how MUCH women choose to carry in their purses! Wallet, keys, phone. What ELSE do you need?

Amaterasu, I so love the romanticism of owning a Restaurant, it does sound like that dream takes a lot more than just hard work and you have sacrificed lots to run a business that can deliver many financial heart breaks. I worked tables for a while last year at our local pub, lunch time during summer break, taking orders, serving drinks to tables, I know I was under 18, but I need to save for university, so I not have much choice.
I have always yearned to be a good ?cook?, I like food, the flavours, tastes, I know I am not a chef, but I try to be a good cook and prepare food that family and friends enjoy?.. I could help with the washing up, and I been told that I am pretty useful with a broom?...lol

Crushes, infatuation, unexplained peculiar behaviour, strange facial ticks and twitches, we had them all rolled into two last night.

Lets start from the day after we arrived from Kochi, my cousin Miyuki had invited friends to have drinks and go to restaurant, and say hi, this sounded really cool, so of we all toddled , Annabel and I taking pictures of everything.

At the Restaurant, Miyuki introduced us and after about 20 minutes or so these 2 guys want us to sit next too them, because when we spoke they could not hear from their end of the table, Miyuki and her friends were wetting themselves laughing, saying something like ?they are so funny like real comedians?, while Annabel was trying to work out what was so funny so she could wet herself in sympathy, they had got up and moved the girls in front of us, for the rest of the evening we had the double act, we had ear and facial twitching to mobile phone ring tones, oh yes ?nostril ballet? every time his phone rang, one kept on asking to smell Annabel hands, the other had a foot fetish , he wanted to ?read my feet?, he thought a way to a girls heart is though her toes, he also had a disarming habit of moving his eyes in different directions in time to his mates ?nostril ballet?, and everybody was cracking up, these Guys are the definition of cool on Tokyo?? we were happy that everybody was enjoying themselves and that?s that ?..lol

We thought that would be the last we saw of ?the love mussels? yes I kid you not ,Miyuki said they like to be known as ?the love mussels? because they think they are so funny they ?ignite a girls love mussel?.

Anyways they had asked Miyuki if we could all go out last night for a drink and a meal, we shared the bill last time, so we though as we were all going out in a group, and too be polite???.they brought love poems, Annabel was beetroot, I did not know want to say, they went through the excruciating task of translating it, aaaahhh!!!

Miyuki said we are so lucky they get all the Girls, I told the guy politely that I not fancy him, and that?s that, I told him, he was nice but not my type, he not speak to me rest of evening, I tried to tell him if I had offended him sorry, but he just laughed?

Annabel just politely moved, Miyuki upset when she came back last night and said we were impolite to say?.

Sorry had to ?tone down? the slang thread so a bit late we start with the ?As? tomorrow?..

Pips, you're blabbering like a hysterical fangirl about the great time that you had with these Japanese fellows. I'm having a 'hot mess' of a time trying to decipher your paragraph. Usually, you're very well-written sentences convey a sense of logic. You're either hyper or drunk - if not both. But I think I follow, a bit. Too many inside jokes - too many names that I am unfamiliar with. In any case, you had fun, met some funny gents. Go out with them a few more times, and don't be so quick to wave the lot of them off. Romance is something that takes time to develop, unlike a superficial crush.

I suppose that means, right now, you're in Japan? I should bother you to go and pick me up some things in the Otaku district. Akihabara, is it? Then again, a respectable young lady would lose face going there. (Ha ha ha)

About the restaurant - if it's your dream - go ahead. I want to give you fair warning; the last five years have been the darkest in my life. In many ways, I wish that I could have my time back and forget that this place and this time in my life ever existed. I won't go into it any further: this is not the time nor the place for such dark things.

I do enjoy socialising as a group, Amaterasu, both Guys were polite, and popular, I would love to see them again but not on ?dates?.

I had a ?girl to girl jaw jaw? with Miyuki (my cousin) today and explained that I wanted to be straight forward and honest with them, where vanity is concerned I have no illusions of grandeur, and I was so flattered to be made a little fuss of.

I do like that special physical attraction, natural body language, the warm internal glow that does take time to blossom , my silly particularity for romanticism, coupled with all the strong emotional ?ding dongs? working there magic inside, that for me are the signposts leading to love.
The couple of serious relationships I have enjoyed have been wonderful and I am still very fond of those special memories, even though both Guys ?grew out of me? and moved on to new relationships, I cherish remembering the tender moments, but most of all both these relationships taught me love requires compassion, genuine human kindness, and natural closeness.

I just like to feel that when meeting somebody special, the inevitable emotional battle between head and heart, the warm togetherness, is reciprocated.
These two wonderful joker , we had the pleasure of meeting are fascinating to watch and pleasurable company to enjoy, but not boyfriend material, but that does not mean we can?t be great friends, I would love to take the time to understand and discover their unique sense of humour, but from the body language I don?t think that is what they had in mind.

I do blabber, waffle, and flap around like a ?headless chicken?, when paid or given too much attention.
I am sad that the last 5 years have brought such heartbreak, I hope that your fortunes change, and you find happiness you surely deserve, I admire your drive and determination to bring about success even in your darkest moments.
