Professor Hawkins, the man is a genuine “academic one off”, and totally unfazed by being wheelchair bound , his “brief history of time” has opened a new world of “Star Trek” stuff for millions of the likeminded, science doesn’t “float my boat” though , no disrespect to the “Picard and Riker” members of Utadanet… I enjoy mostly how humble he is - wait, moreso than that, the man is clever and has a sense of humour. Yes, you should not dis Trek - because Hikki likes Trek. The books also (dissapointingly) does away with Time Travel and humans travelling at warp or moving faster than the speed of light. But geniuses have been wrong before. Quote: What?!!!...Guys where’s the Romance here, would you honestly suggest to a beautiful date after a candle lit dinner “fancy a plow” or “would you mind if I gave you a right good tapping”……you know, I overhear this sort of stuff at College….”that bird is going to experience the full force of my blue veined hooligan”….”I’m heading conkers deep with that treacle”…”That’s getting kicked that off the stand soon ”……… Ha! How absolutely novel. Some of those expressions are just so alien, and yet so, so quaint. We need a slang thread indeed. Romance and courtship seem to be a thing of the past. These days, it's all about dancing, 'hanging out', or just going to the movies. Getting a girl flowers, being nice to her - being polite and considerate gets your heart broken and then you get shat on (as in deficated on.) It comes with the evolution of society, and the slow breakdown of morality and gender roles. We're on the brink of a new kind of age - for better or worse is not yet for me to decide. I'll just stick to "I'd tap that." (actually, it's just for the sake of conversation, I'm totally unlike your typical guy) Come think, in this late hour, it is POSSIBLE for an older person to have a crush. You have the hots for them, and then you see nothing short of only their good qualities, and then you 'fall in love' with them - or the image of them. I suppose that CAN happen, and perhaps even DOES happen to people young and old. I suppose people just treat it differently when you're mature. Then again - sweaty palms, general nervousness - perhaps it's just universal. Quote: Has a sort of guarded acceptance that Guys do have feelings but mixed in with a “look at my six pack” vibe, also theirs an endearing quality to “I was just the type to admire from afar”…pray this doesn’t require the use of high powered binoculars or setting up of a complex hydraulic telescope. Societies in general have a habit of breeding macho-men, and it is incredibly emasculating to admit having feelings. If my friend cried during a movie, I'd say, 'Dude, do you know how I know that you're gay? Because you cried during a chick-flick. That's how I know you're gay.' ^__^ Not to say that I seriously think that his heterosexuality has dissapated, but it's a common tender point that we men enjoy prodding with each other. Sociological norms, gender roles, stereotyping, conditioning - what have you - it all works towards this conclusion: FEELINGS ARE GAY. Oh, I just remembered something. Click the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqXi8WmQ_WM In the spirit of candidacy, in the last five years, I've spent my life in a restaurant without a social life. Absolutely none. So the possibilities of developing any sort of fancy, lust, or crush on a woman has been removed from me. In this respect, I've been rather thankful. I've watched so much Star Trek that I have convinced myself that Vulcans are cool and that emotions are "Most Illogical." kthanxbai |
