yes. most filipino celebrates it. specially in "china town" (binondo manila) wherein there are many 'chinoys -- chinese/filipino*pinoy*'

there are plenty of fireworks display around manila and makati whenever chinese new year arrives

mahjong seems...difficult for me * ^ * i sorta get the gist of it but *phew* the chracters and stuff on the pieces are a little confusing lol.
