'By Your Side' will be on the compilation Pro-Peace album titled 'Unity', which will be the soundtrack to the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics.
The CD of various artist features Destiny's Child, Sting, Avril, Lenny Kravitz, Moby, others..., and of course UtADA!

The CD will also be accompanied by the release of two other albums 'Harmony' (The Classical Olympics Soundtrack) and 'Phos' (The Greek Olympics Soundtrack).

With the release of 'Unity', EMI will make a $US180,000 to Unicef's HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa.

The song features Timbaland and Keily Dean. Timbaland produces Keily Dean, and is know for working with such artist as Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, and Justin Timberlake.

Sooo many awesome artists on the CD.. Avril, Destiny's Child, Timbaland, Jamelia, Sting, Earth Wind & Fire, and of course the one and only UTADA~~~ This is so cool I'm gonna love this album so much

I think Earth Wind and Fire are an old disco band who sang a classic called "Boogie Wonderland" ^__^

As for Avril doing "Knocking on Heaven's Door"... just take solace in the fact you've never heard her cover of System of a Down's "Chop Suey"... *shudders*

oooh also looking forward to hearing Skin's collaboration (if it's the same Skin I'm thinking off) and I've heard Cheb Ami sing before on one of Sting's tracks... some really cool arabic wailing

Speaking of shuddering Avril singing...have you ever heard her sing any of her OWN songs? I heard her sing 'complicated' live and she was just off tone and everything ?_?

Hooray for Hikki! Maybe she won't get noticed by potential US fans right away just for contributing to this compilation thingy but it'll get her foot in the door!

Also...I don't know a whole lot about Avril, but everything I read about her makes it look like she's trying trying REALLY HARD to not be a sugary pop singer, and calling SO much attention to how far off she is from that image. (but she didn't even write her own songs for her first album) I do kindasorta think that her song Sk8erboi (or however you spell it) is pretty catchy...

And even more offtopic, Avril just happened to be on the same Heyx3 episode as GLAY recently!Screencaps! The lead singer's a fan of hers...
