Okay, what I don't seem to understand is that DISTANCE and FINAL DISTANCE are the exact same song, only with changes to the melodies and some background voices. Yet, I don't see why both have different lyrics when they're translated to English?

I mean, I know these two versions are pretty similar, but I've found a few on the web that make it seem DISTANCE and FINAL DISTANCE are two completely different songs!

Any thoughts?

They still are the same song, however, depending on who is translating the song, the outcome in english can vary. Keep in mind that the added background vocals etc. might be included in some people's translations as well. Hope this helps!
