Hey, don't know if anyone else has noticed this, or how long its been like this...

But Utada is no longer listed on Island's website.

Has her contract ended?

Edit: And now she's back on their site!

NOOOOOOO!! Has she been dropped from Def Jam!? If that's what happened then I'm sad this could mean no more English material, but even sadder if this in some way affects the In The Flesh DVD.

BTW, Hi! This is my first post.

I had a feeling she wouldn't renew the contract with IDJ. They weren't really all that supportive. With TITO, they did more but I feel they could have done much more to get Utada's name out there. They didn't even promote the concerts properly. We had to find out from the opening act! They don't respect her and I'm glad she left. I just hope she will sign on with another record label and not abandon us

Given that Toshiba-EMI is now folded into EMI, there's always a chance she could just release an English album through her already existing contract with EMI...

I thought of that, too. Isn't that what BoA's doing with her label? Whatever she does is OK as long as she makes more music, in whatever language.

She wouldn't have been dropped, she fufilled her contract to deliver two albums, she probably chose not to renew it.

She only signed with IDJ for two albums . Exodus and TITO . And why would she sign for another contract with IDJ ? They did nothing to fully promote the album .
