1.Monster ending \"old man asking who the real monster is ?\"
2.Clannad ending
Anime :
1.Ghost in the shell, when Tachikome and Fucikoma die helping Batou against armored mecha soldier.
2.Grave of fireflies, when his little sister die because nuclear radiation and he die at Train Station
Anyone ?

I dont know about the Manga but I watched the Anime and I absolutly agree Clannad and Clannad: After Story was the saddest I have ever experienced. The whole show just gave me an emotional roller coaster ride. Umm dont know any other notable ones maybe Death of Euphy in Code Geass and ending of Witchblade.

I don't really read Manga, but definitely for me the most sad anime scene is in AIR TV when Misuzu dies.

I'd have to agree with Clannad being very emotional the whole way through. Another sad moment would have to be in the first PokeMon movie when Ash gets turned to stone and Pikachu tries to revive. More than ten years old and I still cry to this day....

When L dies in Death Note.
Clannad is too overrated, and gives people bad memories. Don't watch it! At least I'm glad I've never watch it, and I don't think I will ever watch it.

I know people who have, and I have heard them to say to stay away from it. Same goes for Lucky Star, the most boring anime of all time. I have seen a little Lucky Star, but it just got too boring, so I had to stop watching it.

the "Wishing Fireflies" episode in Samurai X. in it, this young samurai leaves behind his life and the girl he loves to pursue a life of hatred and death only to realize in the end that his girl faithfully waited for him everyday by the river.
