Scott Murphy "Guilty Pleasure 4" covers Utada's " Flavor of Life"

"Scott Murphy" one of artist under "Universal Music" released his new album title "Guilty Pleasure 4" on sale 2010 8 25
He also covers Utada's best selling digital single "Flavor of Life" one of my favorite song.

For me i think he do a good job making a ballad to rock genre song. Tell me what do you think

He raped this song. This song isn't supposed to sound all happy, rocky, and upbeat. It is supposed to sound emotional. What a good way to destroy the point of the song. Covers usually suck, but this is one of them that blows.
Though I give him some credit on the voice, and the guitar, this isn't that type of song to be covered in that manor. It could be good with all of that, just covering this type of song is just awful.

Yes, I heard of Utada back then.
No, I wasn't around. I only heard of Simple and Clean during that time, and this was the 2nd Utada song I heard.

Well actually i'm not a big fans or rock-ish music genre style , but i have to appreciated him make a different cover of "Flavor of Life" even though my brain will stay in love with the original one.

I actually kinda like it (I do like Rock though, actually leaning more to J-Rock), it's a nice cover.
It got approval from Utada, kinda, reading from the blog entry. True, what she pointed out though XD
EDIT: looked him up on Youtube...I fell in love. Some of his covers sound awkward but some work so well. I think his cover of First Love is so-so though, the music's nice though. Listen to the other covers ^^
