So, EMI was just sold to Universal...

So, Universal (the parent company of Island Def Jam) apparently bought EMI (and, I assume, its subdivisions; including EMI Music Japan).

So my question is, now that EMI belongs to Universal, are we likely to see her venture into the U.S. again (I'm referring to the international contract she signed with EMI last November)? Add to that the fact that she and Universal didn't exactly part on amicable terms (with her telling her fans on Twitter to not buy into Universal's attempt to cash-in on her hiatus).

I don't know much about these things... so please correct me if I'm totally wrong about this.

Hi Cube, spot on, radio weeped out the news...

Ironic ??.. Could be some movement on the ?In the flesh? copyright issue though?.

And Universal will have to jump through the hoops with the European competition authorities..

Quote:
Roger Faxon, EMI?s chief executive, told staff that EMI could remain ?much as it is today? until perhaps well after its fiscal year end in March, given the need for regulators in the European Union, US, Japan and Australia to approve both deals.

Impala, which represents European independent music companies, called on European competition authorities to block Universal?s bid outright, even after the French-owned group pledged to sell ?500m of non-core assets to stay within its triple-B credit rating.

My current feelings

http://hikki.blogspot.com/2010/10/my-current-feelings.html

I think this is all water under the bridge for Utada, time has passed and life has moved on?.. I?m keeping my fingers crossed, music is rooted in Hikki soul, like the itch that is impossible to scratch, Utada will find it impossible to resist the urge to perform sooner or later ?.
