why allow forum members to change their avatars only the first week of the month?
That means I have to keep this un-original avatar (I've spotted other forum members with it) for 3 more week xD

I think you have to make a 100 pixel x 100 pixel max size or cropped size picture, *.jpg format worked for me. Then, you upload it. But I think the Website administrators here only announce and allow such avatar changes or uploads every once in awhile, maybe once monthly? There was a string recently announcing same, which is gone now. I found the upload very finicky. Accidentally picked the wrong picture, which set off "no can do" alarms. You can only guess what that one looked like.
