I love Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, and His Dark Materials (Golden Compass trilogy) and that's about it for the series...
I really enjoy Amy Tan's books... Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is also one of those that you just don't forget after reading but I wouldn't call it my favourite Anne of Green Gables, Emily of New Moon...haha classic Canadian literature =] (or just l.m. Montgomery) I think I know more young classic teen books since I did a lot more reading back then... sadly I don't get to read as much as I'd like :P |

Hmm.
Lord of the Rings - exceptionally well written. Not neccessarily for story and characterization, but sheer writing style. Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - while not a singular novel, but rather a collection of A. C. Doyles' tales of the famous detective, it will always hold a very special place in my heart. I love the Victorian era because of these books. A Brief History of Time/The Universe in a Nutshell - Steven Hawking's double-book (it's actually two books rolled into one) explaning the universe using modern day (post Einsteinien) physics. Covering everything from the cosmic to the sub-atomic level. Incredibly enlightening, shocking, thought-provoking and - ironically, quite funny to read (he's got a sense of humour). Highly recommended to those with a brain. Catch 22 - simply one of the best (and funniest) novels of this century. A Song of Ice and Fire (ongoing series) - while not in the poetic, proseaic style of Tolkien - this remains a fantasy series that is deeply rooted in its own world; much devoid of the spell-casting, dice-rolling cheese fantasy that lines bookshelves in our post Dungeons and Dragons society. Excellent - except the author seems damned lazy. |

I'm so excited.. Ang Lee (I THINK) picked up Life of Pi to make into a movie. It's sooo sad, and really disturbing. I hope they get it right.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass
Great books. Not just whimsiness. The fantasy and inner meanings are good. I highly recommend this classic. And Then there Were None For some reason, this mystery scared me at night. Great writing. I highly recommend this book by Agatha Christie. (sp?) Others: Pride & Prejudice Harriet the Spy Twilight - ONLY the first book though Flipped, by Wendelin van Draanen |

I liked The Lovely Bones. Its really dark and makes you think.
I liked the Twilight Series until they made the film. But yeah Twilight was the best one. Hey Nostradamus! was a good one too. Harry Potter isnt really my favourite but they are good reads. |
