Use of Utada Lyrics?

I am currently working on a new single called "All Because of You", and in the second verse, I use some of utada's lyrics, japanese ones. I took 3 sentances from 3 different songs, and a sentance I composed. The sentances do not have the same melodies as the originals. So it sounds NOTHING like Hikki. But I am wondering is this considered plegerism?

Here are the lyrics,

koi wo shite subete sasage (falling in love, giving it all)(from Sakura Drops)
yume miteta no wa doko made (How long have I been dreaming?)(From Be My Last)
ki ni naru noni kikenai (I'm anxious, but can't say anything) (From Final Distance)
Nani wo warai? Nani wo Warai?(What are you snearing at?)

Thank you for your responses. :)

I think it's all post-modernism does, taking what was done before and making something new out of it :P Hail Quentin Tarantino 8D Generally as you take from many songs you're safe. Of course you can credit Utada.
BTW, will you share the recording when the song is done? ;)

Yes, I guess It is something "new".
I of course will upload the song, after it is completed. :)

So its not plegarism?
Should I get permission from U3 music?

Plagiarism, as defined in the 1995 Random House Compact Unabridged Dictionary, is the "use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work.

this one i got from wikipedia. maybe you should do more research about whether you can or cannot use other people's bits of work. i mean it wont be 100% original if you took bits and pieces of other songs right?

better yet, why dont you re-word your song. all writers do that.

good luck and peace!!!

Aww, so it is plegarism? I guess I will have to change the song, because I will make profit, as it is a single.
This saddens me, lol. I'll make different lyrics.
I will upload this version however, when the non-utada lyrics version comes out, which should be next week sometime.

I hope Utada doesnt sue me for this, lol.
Well, I guess its okay as long as I dont sell that version.

Wait, legally if the song has less than 66% of taken material it is not a plagiarism. Nobody will sue you because you use 3 sentences from different songs. Music is most likely to be judged about it's originality but those lines you wrote can be only taken as a homage to Utada. If you took all chorus or whole verse from a song it would be different story;)

I think it would all come down to knowingly copying it and not giving credits or a shared authorship. Is it you intention to copy and use her lyrics and profit by it?

Is the context different enough? Since the post is here, I'd say you are using it because it is her lyrics. Really if there is not money to be made few will know and it won't matter.

Good luck on your song writting.
