Yeah, you get these extremely thin hook wires placed inside your brackets on two sides of your upper and lower jaw, and then you get these small flexible rubber bands that you use to stretch over the hooks. It's supposed to straighten your jaw over a period of several months, so that your bottom and top teeth align. [gets rid of overbite]

I have no idea what that weird thing is but they put some turquoise thing on all my lower teeth...And you can see from one side the tiny hook in my bracket, with my rubber bands in. Ouchies. x______x

I had 'em. It was awful.

At least I got 'em taken off in time for highschool.
