On the friday, I probably only arrive home after college about 1pm. Then i'll quickly get ready and leave I suppose. I live just slightly north of Enfield in Hertfordshire, so I imagine it'll take an hour or so to get back into central london; I haven't looked up the route i'll need to take yet.
And the 1pm idea, is that just for when we meet of when we actually start queueing? 6 hours lining up. You people are crazy. I guess I have some experience though. I was standing about 12 straight hours in a sea of bodies at Reading last year at the front because i needed to see Radiohead. That was taxing to say the least, but at least there were a bunch of awesome bands that I wanted to see to keep me entertained all night though. I guess i'm not opposed to the idea of waiting a long time, but i'd just want to have enough time to get ready and be in time to meet you people. Especially since i'm going alone. I couldn't handle a queue for that long just sitting there doing nothing for hours, so i'd rather be in good company. Oh but also, I'm collecting tickets from the box office. I'm not really aware of how it works. Am I supposed to collect them before queueing, or do I only pick them up when the doors open and I get into the venue once everyone is going in? |

I was thinking of queueing early! Taking the train down and probably be in London for 2pmish. Not sure what we will be doing tho, might have to wait for my friend who putting us up for the night to finish work.
I'm in two minds whether to purchase a digital camera or try my luck with my camera phone. My camera phone is 8mp but it has really rubbish zoom. My cousin will sneak his in and take the pictures! I hope i get the time off at work, i work part time at a cinema, i'm going to quit if they are not letting me the time off! |

The queuing is going to be tricky?I have never queued longer than 2 hours here before? as for 6 hours or longer the area does not lend itself to large groups of people queuing/loitering for such a length of time any ?blocking? during office hours and people will be asked to move on?.A friendly word of caution dropping litter even accidently is ?rewarded? by up to a ?100 on the spot fine as is stubbing /discarding cigarette ends?
![]() ![]() Steve ?FYI and cut and paste O2 Academy Islington Q& A Q I have chosen to collect my tickets from the box office, how do I do this? A: The tickets should be collected by the credit/debit card holder on the day of the event when the doors open. Some venues will allow you to collect your tickets up to two hours before the event. You will need to quote the reference number and take the credit/debit card used to make the booking as identification. If you want someone else to collect the tickets, a signed letter of authorization will be required that must contain the following information: Full name and address of customer booking tickets Booking reference number Name and date of event Name of person collecting tickets Type of ID the person collecting will provide Last four digits of the card used to pay for the tickets. Interesting to note ..... ![]() Q: How can I get VIP tickets for a show or get backstage to meet the artists? A: We do not sell VIP packages for any of our shows. For some shows, meet and greet tickets will be available to purchase when making your booking and these will be clearly advertised if available. If not, it will not be possible to purchase back stage passes or meet the artists. Any requests should be directed to the artist's management via their website as the venue will be unable to help. ![]() |

Hi pips, thanks for the map. I went to check it out today and took me 22mins to walk down to the travelodge and then to O2 although I did not stop at the travelodge.
Jus wondering though, there seems to be two entrances. One on ground floor and the other on first floor though I think that was the box office... Do you know which is the one they'll be letting people in? I saw a poster with all the events. Got excited wen I saw UTADA lol. ;) |

I got there about half six. The surrounding areas was busy (Upper Street?); everyone was scrambling onto buses. The N1 centre itself was pretty quiet. I don't know if there was a gig on that night, but the area around the O2 academy entrances was pretty dead too...

I still havnt receive my tickets from ticketweb yet, quite worried as ive seen people receiving them.
I have lectures on friday and will probably skive the ones towards the end so I will probably reach there by 4, hopefully the queue is still reasonable by then. Anyone bring anything in hopes of getting an autograph? So disappointed we arent allowed cameras. |

AHHHHH IM GOING! :D after much searching around on the net (seemed hopeless really) but i managed to buy a ticket off a lovely person for ?50 :) sort of feel bad for those who paid ridiculous amounts for it though..
anywho, i've been to the islington 02 venue many a time, and just a word of advice for those who are wanting to take in digital cameras, i wouldn't. The security at the islington academy is extremeeely tight...even to the point when they didnt send out tickets for a paramore gig i went to, everyone had to be stamped for fears of touting etc. what im trying to say is.. if the venue has been told 'no photography' the will not hesitate to just chuck you out without warning. i reckon a camera phone would be JUST ok but even still.. i dunno. haa. |
