I made a little update to the Radio Station Request thread:

2. For now, I would recommend to not request at stations that have not yet played the song. The song is so new right now that these stations will wonder how you know of the song, and may think that all future requests for the song are just hardcore Utada fans from out of state and ignore them. If you REALLY want to, that's you're prerogative, but it's probably best to just request at the stations listed that have played the song for now. I will keep the list updated as more stations test the song out. Maybe later when the song has had more exposure we can start requesting at other stations. UPDATE: I think at this point in the game we should be OK with hitting up stations that haven't yet played it. However, efforts are probably still best focused on stations that already have, since they've already demonstrated they're willing to give the song a chance.


So I don't think we should be scared about calling a new station, but it's still easier to focus on the ones that are spinning the song.

At least I have free nationwide. I just called WRDW and am hoping they will play it for me. I will go around on a calling spree for a little while here, but not too many, please feel free to join me. i'm just gonna call the higher market stations for now.

just called WNYZ hoping for a spin there. Acted stupid and said I heard the song on there the other day and was wondering who sang it. I may have screwed myself at the end. i said I was from manhattan when I should've said brooklyn, queens or something like that. maybe it worked though.

^^ Be very careful! Calling an out-of-your-area station is still not something I'd recommend. If you're going to do it, I'd make sure to listen online if you can just to make sure they're not in the middle of a contest or a talk show, also.

WAY ahead of you. I thought about that and started listening about 2 minutes ahead. I only called 3 stations, but everyone that plays it help. I was looking at the stations that were higher on the list, but I then noticed that WNYX (after i called) really isn't that great in ranks. WXSS in Milwaukee is higher on the list than that, so I think I will give it a rest. I learned one quick lesson though. KNOW PLACES AROUND THERE AND PLAN TO TELL THEM WHERE YOU'RE FROM... if you call some out of your area stations that is. Just hope they all play it.

Hmm, what are you reffering to when you say that WXSS is higher than WNYZ (I think this is what you meant when you put WNYX)? I'm sure that WXSS does reach a larger audience than WNYZ since it's just a dance station but there's nothing on the MediaBase page that would necessarily indicate that. The "Station Rank" column doesn't refer to the station's rank in audience, but (as far as I can tell) roughly the song's position in that station's playlist.
