England 1:1 USA It's a draw but to me england lost. They commit quite a few mistakes in the 2nd half and they look uncomfortable handling the ball. USA sure did fine considering that soccer is never their expertise. Basketball, football, baseball but not soccer. Oh well... |

England deserved the 1:0 win, only for Robert Green to miss a routine scoop up. That isn't going look too good on his goalkeeping resume..Clint Dempsey, great player, might as well be British, but that was not a goal.
South Korea however, Jiremi..for you, pulled out a 2:0 win over world's 13th ranked Greece. Lee Jong-Su opened up the match in the 6th minute. Cross ent into the box, Lee, like a fox, pounced to give the Red Tigers the early advantage. Park Ji-Sung sealed the match shortly after the restart when he intercepted a pass deep inside Greek territory and outsprinted the back line en route to making it 2..3 points and first in the group..I feel good today. Haha. |

Am early goal from Steven Gerrard gave England a positive start, all seemed forgiven for the apparent lack of confidence in pre tournament friendly matches against Mexico and Japan, but England made a classic error they sat back and allowed the US team plenty of possession, evident when altidore came close to heading in a cross from Donovan, but it was Dempsey close to half time that from 20 odd yards poked a shot that Green miss timed and the ball bounced passed him, England had chances to score but Heskey was unable to convert the opportunities ??.Ledley King suffered a groin injury and did not come out after the break, in the second half further embarrassment was heaped on England defences when Altidore ghosted passed Carragher and lucky the post came to Greens aid after diverting away from the goal?..Yes Bob Bradley's side have good reason to celebrate and can take allot of encouragement away from this draw?..England did produce some sparks of class and started to gel as a team after the 75 minute, England can also draw comfort from solid performances from Gerrard and Lampard but it was to little to late..
You know the US squad should not be under estimated Fifa rank the US team 14th in the World and 7 US players present tonight have proven experience in the premier league?.it seems the best team drew? South Korea gave a committed performance for a convincing and deserved win???..Congratulations Kayoko who is probably celebrating supping his favourite Jamaican 10-Speed ?.1/2 oz Malibu coconut rum, 3/4 oz melon liqueur,3/4 oz cr?me de bananas,1 splash milk,3 oz pineapple juice with complementary firework display and umbrella ?As for me I am going to have a good cry??. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Why thank you Pips..the drink sounds iffy, but lol..good nonetheless. I was surprised more by the Argentina/ Nigeria match. Of all players to score for Argentina, Gabriel Heinze, a defender gave them the lead. A suspect defence is always the story for these massive contenders and it proved it is still suspect. Nigeria held possession for quite a while and had prime chances to score, just left it there.. So Nigeria is left with a must-win game with Greece who are in the similar situation. South Korea are in an intriguing matchup with Argentina..Korea looked good offensively though Park Chu-Young squandered great chances early..If we can capitalise on chances we get, we can catch Argentina off guard..containing their offence may be a difficult task, but Nigeria did, so why can't we?

Sry to say but if "Green" still England number 1 Goalkeeper, i don't think they have a chance go to final. C'mon how good US team, why they cant penetrate their defend. England maybe have a lot of good player but they were lack of good goalkeeper from time to time.
Argentine first match kinda terrible, with their player.... they were supposed can score a goal a lot. But also don't forgot to mention it, Nigeria goalkeeper were so damn good, so many shoot throw by Argentine player blocked by him . South Korea vs Greece were a good match, the best part is when Park Ji sung do a solo run an scored a goal by himself "awesome skill" ![]() Last match i watch Germany vs Australia " Long life Fuhrer" they won 4:0. This a the best match i think, not like other match only won with 1 goal or draw result ![]() ![]() ![]() Next to watch Netherlands vs Denmark 60:40 to Netherlands Japan vs Cameroon 50:50 World Cup make me can't sleep properly......sleepy ![]() |

Well Germany jack booted their intent with a round trouncing of the Socceroos 4-0, you know, the Germans always start off well this is the 6 successive occasion that they have won their first match, I thought it was a harsh decision to straight red (card) Tim Cahill there was no malice or intent to his lunge ....it was clumsy but not intentional ....
What can we make of Algeria 0-1 Slovenia .....Well both teams appeared apprehensive from the off, and it was Koren?s late winner that closed the match down over a 10 man Algeria, after Ghezzal's dismissal, for a mindless handball... Algeria and Slovenia knew a victory would send one of them top of the group and would be a huge boost for moral and raised the tantalising prospect of a place in the last sixteen....well the supposed group favorites England and their back four... a perfect interpretation of the Max Brothers with goal keeper Green?s demonstration of Mr Mcgoo a real laugh a minute ...not!...... Val.....Japan v Cameroon ...15:00 London time .....I am going to miss the Blue Samurai's I am at college and year final exams will be my main priority........ Japan unbeaten in the last 3 encounters with Cameroon should do the business ..... ![]() |

Japan Won!!" screamed the headline in Sports Nippon, betraying the overall sense of surprise greeting the opening win for a side that has struggled badly for goals in the run-up to the tournament.
Most newspapers went with front page images of goal-scoring hero Keisuke Honda, whose 39th minute goal broke the deadlock in Bloemfontein, and heaped praise on Japan's defence for holding on to the lead. |

Japan's defence was staggering was it not? Constant pressure, they hounded Cameroon's wingers off the ball, lots of crosses being sent in by Cameroon defenders. Even Achille Emana's entrance proved no improvement in the attack. Once seen being marked closely by 3 Japanese players. Samuel Eto'o just counldn't find his touch. Cameroon had a supreme opportunity late into stoppage, but goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima, I'll tell you what; Japan are destined for great things if Kawashima can play as he is. Superb in the friendly against England last month, he provided a top drawer save keeping the clean sheet and securing Japan's first ever win in a World Cup tournament outside of Japanese soil. Three big points puts them even with the Netherlands who had earlier beaten Denmark 2:0 and shakes up a group where Japan where favoured to not make it past the group stages. Four points usually secures a place in the round of 16, so Japan are in good shape to go on..one point needed in two matches.
Group F I believe is tomorrow. Group of death..I'm betting Portugal to lose against Cot? d'Ivoire..lol just to make my friend mad if they really do lose. Something interesting: A player on North Korea GUARANTEED a victory over Brasil, stating they have a stronger mindset. Stronger mindset yes, maybe true, but are they stronger talent wise? I think that player is daft. Back in 1966 I think North Korea made it to the Quarterfinals knocking off European giants Italy I think, but this group is so star-studded and packed, I'm just curious to see if North Korea's back line, who hasn't allowed a goal in the last four friendly outings, can contain the players like Kaka, Dani Alves or even Cristiano Ronaldo later on for that matter. |
