Yay someone cleared that up. I thought about it some more and realized it is used but couldn't remember how. Still, it sounds funny to head in the direction of Japan. Lets head East and hit the pacific ocean :P

Sorry I was corrected by my girlfriend, it would be 手紙はところへ行きました　
Also watakushi is used in the business field. (I think almost exclusively)

And finally, I was just explaining that that sentence was grammatically correct, not sayin it made lots of sense. But translating japanese is no easy thing, I think it takes a bit of the translators own words to make it work...

I have my book here now, which has the example of "nihon e ikimasho"

it do not explain something. it is just stated here:

Nihon e ikimasho
Nee-hohn eh ee-kee-mah-sho

it has only the way it is pronunced.

That one is so hard to say. Practice practice :P

Also, has anyone heard 'Ookini'? Hanging out in the Kansai area, and dressing up as a geisha had me saying this one. It is the Kansai dialect of saying Thank you.
