The Holland Spain final was the preverbal poison chalice for Howard Webb, who set a new record for a World Cup final with 14 bookings, and the one sending off ....With the benefit of hind sight Webb made some questionable decisions, for instance should Webb have given De Jong his marching orders for the flying kick that caught Xabi Alonso chest??......
And sent hit man Van Bommel back to the changing room for repeated fouling?? ....I think Webb made the right call, if both had been dismissed the Final would have all but been over in the first 30 minutes..!!....Webb was between and rock and a hard place ...he had little choice ...

What clearly frustrated and angered Dutch players and fans alike, is Webb missing a Dutch corner when a free kick ricocheted off Fabregas...... soon after Spain scored, on refection Robben yellow card was harsh, compounded by the fact that Robben appeared to be pulled down just outside the box by Puyol, from peach of a pass from Sneijder, Puyol having already been booked would have seen red .....

Ahh yes pre-season training gets under way soon and word around the camp fire is that Real Madrid have drawn back from making a approach for Steven Gerrard after a torrid World Cup performance as the ?30m asking price appears poor value for money........ Also Torres could be waylaid for 12 weeks with a groin injury affecting any move to Chelsea.
Blackpool, Premiership newbie?s are about to snap up US midfielder Michael Bradley, from Borussia Moenchengladbach and Arsenal are keeping well zipped about details of their approach for Keisuke Honda....Kayoko will be a happy bunny

Dang...that game was beasty!! XD I did not want Spain to win though :S The flying kick to Alonso was just about the most epic thing in the whole game(BTW I share last names with Xabi Alonso)

The game had it's dirty things...and maybe it wasn't "beautifull Soccer" but even so, I believe it was a very good final match ^^ though the outcome bothered me...it was still a very good game and since Netherlands accepted that Spain was the better team...well, I guess I shouldn't feel so upset XD

Giga so you are an Alonso !!!!, I thought as much, when I copped a mosey at your photo from ?weekend at bedrock?..Easter break , I said to Ling (Chinese college friend), doesn?t Giga look like an Alonso, we were speculating you shared an uncanny visual resemblance with footy player (Xabi) and formula one racing driver (Fernando) Alonso.....we are convinced that your ancestors are connected......We will have to update both Xabi and Fernando fanzine sites with this fascinating and exciting news....... Ling spotted straight away ?Giga?s car has a go faster stripe like Starsky and Hutch?s red-and-white Torino?..... I had to retort on your behalf ....?Ling wash your mouth out Giga is no boy racer?....but on refection shock horror, your unmistakable urge to pimp everything that moves could be a evidence of the similar gene pull......spooky.....

Yes filming for Shaolin Soccer 3 is imminent....De Jong is taken one of the leads... changed his name to Wing Wong De Jong the Dutch Destroyer..a bad Guy of course ... nuff said ...

Howard Webb defends his handling of Sundays Final "We felt satisfied we'd done a tough job in difficult circumstances to the best of our abilities, it was an extremely challenging match to handle, whatever the match, you always hope that the officials won't need to be heavily involved, however, we had to raise our profile in order to keep control. We don't feel that we had much choice except to manage the game in the way we did, from early on in the match we had to make decisions that were clear yellow cards, we tried to apply some common sense officiating given the magnitude of the occasion for both sides - advising players early on for some of their tackling, sending players away when they were surrounding the officials, and speaking to their senior colleagues to try to calm them down, it is one of the toughest games we will ever be involved in and we feel that we worked hard to keep the focus on the football as much as possible." ......

ALONSO!! And Philipa, he did play some football himself. Was it knee damage that made you quit? Can it be more evident? Time to look up your family tree.

And Philipa, you never told me Marouane Chamakh joined Arsenal. It said he joined in May!!! And I thought he was still at Bordeaux. I guess he left because of Laurent Blanc's departure. Ho hum..he resembles Cristiano Ronaldo so much..hope he scores like him. I'm amped for this year! We signed Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny, more to come too..Honda and ?zil would complete a dream summer. Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner are finally healthy, Cesc Fabregas is still at Arsenal..and Andrey Arshavin is still “The Little Russian.” lol..We look like a club worthy of raising the trophy this upcoming term. Sure as heck better than seeing that one club Chelsea raise it that's for sure. Let the trash talking begin..I'm ready to see us Gooners win hun.

Oh knee damage?...

I missed the Marouane Chamakh deal Mr K....I see Arsenal will be well placed for the title....
No place for Bellamy at Man City after Silva?s ?20m+ transfer completion, Bellamy and Mancini have personalities that clashed, Bellamy will have to take a huge hit on his ?90,000 weekly wage if he is going to find another club ....

And Man U, are still in the race for signing Germany World Cup Captain and Bayern Munich?s Lahm.......

And Chelsea are to make a formal offer for it appears Chelsea are not worried about the thigh injury, however new Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson flew out the Spain to persuade him otherwise.

David Beckham has made a life changing decision 'I want to be a pro Lego builder' .......Strange but true Beckham has confirmed if he had not decided on a career in soccer he would have certainly build Lego professionally for a living....
.
I am assuming that Beckham is aware Lego-land is a brick ?n? knob configuration fashioned out of plastic .........

I think Becks is a fan of Lego soccer. I had the Lego soccer pitch and players with goals and a tiny plastic ball to shoot. It was rather fun. Assuming if that ties with Becks, he's going to construct a lego pitch, regulation size to professional. Speed won't matter either..your standing still or just sliding around.

Silva's signing could open the door for Bellamy to finally transfer to Arsenal. Wenger admired his play in January, but doubted City would sell such a player. He has the opportunity to do so now...but~ Chamakh's signing may have sealed the deal shut.

Who is to be appointed as Fulham's manager? A strong season puts Fulham's expectations high. I think Gianfranco Zola deserves another chance. I admire his coaching ability and his courage to challenge the new owner's decisions late last year. It got him sacked, but he did so and I can respect that. A former Chelsea man, is that where the class comes from?

Ho Hum Giga what happened?.... sounds painful...
I so wanted to join the Girls footy team at school but I am hampered by a ?Girly? running style , rapid directional movement is achieved with my upper limbs glued to my trunk and my lower arms and hands doing their own swing ?n? wave thing , wild unnatural circular motions , meanwhile my legs appear glued together at the knees and move simultaneously with my lower arms ...it?s a gangly spindly awkward jerk, rush, then move at speed, spectators though I had received a glancing blow to the temple, the referee was constantly running over and asking if have ready access to my medication.....

No news out of Craven cottage Kayoko lots of rumours and gossip though...... out of the frame goes Swiss coach Hitzfeld and Bob Bradley(US), the name being touted around at present is ex Spurs Boss Martin Jol, Ivory Coast manager Sven Goran Eriksson was supposed to be considering an offer but this news has turned out to be pure speculation .........

You are right Kayoko..... Certified Lego Professionals....

Lots of tranfer news going about.

Sandro Roselli is keen on signing Cesc Fabregas before the start of the La Liga campaign as it is reported that Barcelona are preparing one final offer for the Spanish midfielder. ?40 million set to be offered to Arsenal.

Real Madrid going about as usual to bolster the squad as they are linked with players as, Sami Khedira, Mesut ?zil, and latest in, Manchester United star Nemanja Vidic. Royston Drenthe is the only player linked out of Madrid at the moment.

Juventus pursuing Uruguay international Diego Forlan after his 5 goal performance in the World Cup. But Forlan stated that he likes Atletico Madrid and is not prepared to leave until his contract expires in two years.

Also, after New York's signing of Thierry Henry, Real Salt Lake owner Dave Checketts reports another BIG star is headed to the states. Someone the whole world knows. Not Real Salt Lake, but he has hinted the LA Galaxy have plans. Could this be rumor going around about David Beckham wanting Ronaldinho to join him in America? AC Milan ensured that Ronny is not going anywhere and has to re-negotiated with him for a new long term deal until 2013, but as nothinghas been finalised for the time being, Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis said that he will be listening to offers and has confirmed that he has spoken to higher-ups in the MLS regarding a possible transfer.

And England. The FA has released the 'Capello Index' on to the Internet. A point system rating the English players in the World Cup. Robert Green receiving the lowest rating of 51 and Jermaine Defoe brining in the highest, but at a meer 61. An angry Capello has demanded the system be taken down immediately as he never approved of anything like that. The FA are indeed discussing his future as manager and also expressed they want their next manager to be English. Sir Alex had been offered numerous times, but he enjoys Manchester and feels at a great handicap being Scottish.

Thierry Henry wants to return to Arsenal, in what capacity is a little unclear, the French striker, in his first week after transferring from Barcelona to New York Red Bulls quipped, "When I retire, I don't know how, I want to come back to Arsenal, I have just come to New York to play and to compete and win another title, after everything is done then I will think about it, but whatever it is, I want to come back to Arsenal - maybe as a water boy - I just love this club."......Well Henry certainly left a 226 goal legacy, a club record that will be difficult to surpass, Henry also played a huge part in securing Arsenal two Premier League titles and success in three FA Cup campaigns.

At 32 Henry has a powerful and distinctly recognizable brand name, and an international pedigree to match, with interest from six of Europe?s most successful clubs keen to sign him, it is a huge compliment that Henry chose to see out his career playing in the MLS.

Henry is amongst talented company, a 32 year old David Beckham under a hail of ticker tape moved to L A Galaxy circa 2007, the ceremony had all the hallmarks of planet Beckham right down to his spice girl model wife Posh marching catwalk style with Becks on a lead following on behind, both breaking into a pose every 15 seconds, adorned in a frightening pink dress plus humongous black sunglasses..... Posh insisted he wore pink and chose the sunglasses personally...a crescendo of chanting "Beckham, Beckham? a huge screen relayed highlights of Beckham's career, the only drawback was when Becks lips started to move..stumbling over his words Becks: "foot......I mean soccer, I'll get used to that at some point, I'm sorry? he added his arrival in the MLS ?was not just for the Galaxy but for soccer and for the sport of soccer in the United States".....

Thierry Henry?s arrival should herald a rise in average attendances and galvanize interest in Soccer in the US,19 million fans watched the USA v Ghana match and a record 24 million switched on for the Spain V Holland World Cup Final......

The Capello index has finally been taken down this morning only to reappear again soon after, a major embarrassment to both the FA and Capello, this Index was inspired and backed initially by Capello himself, so I don?t see what grounds Capello has to complain now.

Martin Jol is on the cards to announce his appointment as Roy Hodgson?s replacement at Fulham, in a deal worth ?2 million plus with a week. .

Expect media attention to fall on Joe Cole as Liverpool wait to see if a ?90,000 per week offer will temp the midfielder away from either Spurs or Arsenal, both in the running to increase their bids, interestingly Ancelotti states ?economic reasons? for Coles departure from Stamford Bridge ..It?s make your mind up time for Joe and quickly .....
