hmm i'm suspicious about ALL of this.
i looked up the alleged backwards lyrics of Simple and Clean and these are what I found... *note corresponds to when she sings the two different choruses at the end* Help me escape fun All I need right now is utter sweet love 10 year old was sending ya a hero What if, what if, endlessly In room, suddenly it's a real planet, oh Help me escape fun All I need right now is utter sweet love 10 year old was sending ya a hero What if, what if, endlessly In room, suddenly it's a real planet, oh Hug it and let's go Stay Stay and sleep, feel it moving every night Wasn't he the devil...miss Of course, he is evil Seethe, yeah, see where he walks moving--he won't call me anymore ok I played Simple and Clean backwards and this IS sorta what it sounds like, but it's a complete and utter accident. I recorded myself singing the same part, reversed it, and got the same thing. So I'll record myself singing Sanctuary, reverse it, and let ya'll know if it's just an accident or if some serious computer encryption was used. sorry to be a spoil-sport  , but I just gotta have proof.  |

Ok well if those backwards lyrics really ARE there [not talking about i need more affection than you know, i need true emotions, or so many ups and downs], then they would be there as a form of backmasking, which a lot of artists actually use. If a song is backmasked with secret lyrics, then what the song sounds like forwards will be completely different played backwards. Er, what I mean is, if someone sings "The sky is blue" but uses backmasking, then that "The sky is blue" line could sound like "I have a red car" backwards, and it'll be clear, not warped. So if Sanctuary was really backmasked [which it would have had to be for lyrics THAT specific], then if you record someone singing Sanctuary and reverse that [without doing anything else to meddle with the song], then that sound byte would sound completely different.
So I did this, and the sound byte of me singing Sanctuary backwards sounds exactly the same [word wise] as when you play the original version by Hikki backwards. Therefore it's all in our heads. Um did I make any sense? it's late and I tend to ramble at this hour...  |

colors (instrumental) too being reversed, i thot colors sounded cool |
