I looked it up too because I got curious about it. Yeah so if you want to go all medical on why Hikki may be allergic to it, is perhaps because of the pollen. It also might have to be because she uses her voice most of the time. She's a singer so there's things in cedar wood that have a chance of affecting the respiratory system and that's important because she uses her vocal cords all the time.

^Not in the wood entirely. There's cedar pollen which connects with cedar trees. Then if it's turned into wood and you're allergic, you'll of course have a reaction to it.
