Watching her 20th Birthday Live Chat Sessions - 7 of 20 so far - Utada seemed highly sensitive, reactive, sentient. Maybe highly intelligent, or even "high strung" maybe indicating her nervous energy. So I admire 1) Utada and her staff doing something challenging, new and different; and 2) her evident intellect. Intelligence has different vectors, and I think her musical intelligence is quite astonishing. One final observation: Her extreme sensitivity to her audience may be a "marker" or trademark of successful show business people; because I find that same hypersensitivity to audiences in folks like David Letterman and Conan O'Brien, two late night American television hosts. Maybe Utada should become a late night television host on the American model? She could "Guest Host" the Tonight Show one of these days, for Jay Leno. I think it would work out quite well for her.
