 !Not all of us here are intense J-Pop fans just to tell you since we're mostly America-bound (I don't want to sound like an expert, but in my experience with UtadaNet, it just sounds like we're a lot about Utada rather than J-Pop, although the occasional Namie/Ayu gets thrown in  )J-Pop isn't that different from American except they sing in Japanese (and sometimes English during the chorus when they feel like), and their lyric choice is a bit different (not all about sex and simple subjects.. prettier, and not as poppy). My suggestion is to just, well, listen! Start with Hikki (of course). There are 4 J-Pop queens: Kumi Koda, Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, and Namie Amuro. Give them all a try and don't be shy with J-Pop. If you like Hikki, you don't HAVE to like it all. |
