I've known that she'd make another English album for quite a while, but I haven't been as hyped about it as I have for her new Japanese album :D

Maybe it's because there are so many Japanese songs of hers that I adore, and so few of the English, I just...

But I did like her Exodus album, albeit less than Deep River or Ultra Blue. The songs I DO love, (Devil Inside, Kremlin Dusk, You Make Me Want to be a Man), the Utada United 2006 version is the one that I found really awesome, and not the version found on her CD.

I have faith, and I think this album will be as awesome and at the same level as her Japanese ones :D

yup i agree with jayspeedy. timbaland will work to Hikaru-san's advantage. they just have to do extra work for the promotion of her new album.

sup guys..new to the site but not to utada..i was reading the posts and decided to give my spill on utada and the US albums..utada will become a great US artist! i know alot of you guys dislike timabland bc he is mostly associated to rap but timbaland is known worldwide so he can get some top name artists to work with utada so dont give up on him just yet..i honestly thought this would be her first and last album because i've seen 1 US broadcast about exodus..that was the interview by MTV but now that shes released plans on a 2nd album so i know its going to blow the US outta the water..im thinking Deep River Album status!

There has never really been a breakthrough asian artist in the States yet, so for Utada to even have released Exodus was a great accomplishment. She has much potential to become even bigger with her second english album, especially with the help of Def Jam. They are a great record label and responsible for making some huge hits throughout North America & Europe. I just hope that she has some promotion, and that the United States accepts her. For this to be done, she'll have to be produced.

Exodus had little to no promotion, and the small amount of sales she made was mostly generated by word of mouth and by fans familiar with her Japanese work. Many people believe that the Exodus album was far too experimental and lacked greatness. I think Exodus is a brilliant album personally, and Ultra Blue was even better. Her music is a unique style, but there is a market for it here in the States. Look at what Gwen Stefani's music has become. Her music was very experimental, the only difference is that she already had a committed fan-base from No Doubt. Hikki has tons of potential to crossover here. I just hope it works.
