Yeah, I'd say Slipknot would be metalcore... harcore would be some of those pansy bands like The Fall of Troy, Chiodos, and Sulverstein

i think slipknot is not a metal band. their sound kinda fall on hardcore music.

im really into metal music especially black metal. i like gorgoroth, emperor, dissection, dimmu burgir, children of bodom and katakylism.

oh and death metal band like cannibal corpse.

some say they all sound the same, well maybe if your not really a fan of that kind of genre, thay may all sound the same to you, but if you study them and hear them carefully there is really a great thing about the sounds that they produce and each band will always sound different from the others.

i recommend children of bodom to all the skeptics out there, hear their sound on youtube.com, you might think twice about them. really awesome band. my best album from them is Hatebreeder, the song Towards Dead End is really great, so hear them out.

I like Arch Enemy, Slipknot, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage... yeah.

we have more death metal and metal bands per capita than pretty much anywhere else.
