i think its better to by a gift. for my part you feel much better if you recevied something from your friends rather than money. like they really put a side some of their time for you, by choosing what gift they should give to you.

i know that money is important, its just that it takes away the meaning of gift giving. some things cost so little yet values so much to someone when given as a gift.

Well, it's just a suggestion. Sometimes, you might think the person might not like the gift you bought. Well, for me money is more practical because you can keep the money for education and other uses in the future.
