yea...how come hikki-san isnt in the poll? she hasnt officially made an impact in the US yet so she needs to be in that poll...im sure she will if the company markets her right...they dont do enough for hikki-san here in america...if they did.. then she'd already wouldve been quite popular here for a while actually...thats what i think at least...

yea....thats what i don't get, like why does it seem kind of....racist? or ignorance when it comes to asian actors/actresses, musicians, or basically entertainment area. Because i started noticing and i see that ppl over here tend to give asians a lesser role....like i rarely see any asians in the american entertainment ; _ ;

THey obviously need to market hikki more! >:D

I didn't Utada on the poll because she's giving a second chance in the U.S.

As for the other three, here's what I think:

Namie Amuro: From what I see in her videos, she can be successful in UK first before hitting here in U.S. because UK likes dance-pop songs and with the right promotion, she can make it. As for age, it ain't nothin' but a number, she still looks good

Ayumi Hamasaki: To me, it's a 50/50 situation. She can make mainstream yet still make it in the U.S. Dance charts. One thing's for sure, people will take one look at her and they wiil say, "flawless" ; she's very photogenic.

Koda Kumi: This Japanese sexpot (and I used the word respectively despite on her music videos) can do very well in U.S. She's like a chameleon of Britney ( "Juicy", "Shake It") and Christina ("Selfish", "Freaky") with a little cuteness ("With Your Smile", "Birthday Eve").

So, it's a toss up between Koda or Namie

Strangely enough, I think this new J-Pop Songstress Performing Artist Talent, Moon Kana - (or Tsuki no usagi?) from Tokyo, Japan might catch on here in these United States. She apparently had some success touring in Europe recently. She might "catch on" with kids or avante garde adults -- she reminds me of John Lennon's Wife, the Performing Artist - Yoko Ono. I think she has been at it awhile, but she looks young, underage even: MOON Kana She has a big Profile on MySpace homepage.

Kana has a strange voice. Some people describe it something like a 'dying cat'. It takes time to getting used to, you either love it or hate it. Kana is actually 26 and she been around for quite a while. xD

I like looking at her photos. ^^;

I think Namie Amuro will have a better chance in the U.S.

Koda's and Ayumi's style of music are not really recognized by the people in the U.S.A.

I don't see any need to 'hate' Ayu. xD You can dislike her work, sure. Not all people like her voice or her music, that's okay. But why hate the woman? o_O I can't really see Ayu making a big debut here in the United States. Despite being the one of most recognizable artists in the Japanese industry.

And Ayu speaks good English. xD
