In this thread, you can share your knowledge in Nihonggo. This would be fun, trust me

I'll start.

wa - topic maker
o - direct object
ni - "to", "for", "at"
no - possesive ('s/for)
ka - question maker

BASIC GREETINGS/INTRODUCTIONS:

Dozo yoroshiku onegaishimasu - a very polite way of saying "Nice to meet you"
Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu - less formal
Dozo Yoroshiku - less formal
yoroshiku - equal

Hajimemashite - is like the english (How do you do?)

Ohayo Gozaimasu - Goodmorning *it can also be ohayo only to be less formal*

Konnichiwa - hello(not in the phone) / Good day / Good Afternoon

Konbanwa - Good evening.

Oyasumi Nasai - Good Night.

Tadaima! - I'm Home

Okaeri(nasai) - Welcome Back!

Genki Desu ka? - How are you?

Daijobu desu ka? - are you alright?

NOTE: by adding "ka" the phrase/word becomes a question. Now if you say, "Genki desu" you are saying that you're fine. and if you say "Daijobu desu" you're saying that "I'm alright".

Chotto matte kudasai - please wait a moment.

PERSON:

Dare - who
Watashi - I
Anata - you
Kare - he
Kanojo - She
Watashi tachi - We
Anata tachi - you (more than one)

JAPANESE: subject - object - verb
ENGLISH : subject - verb - object

NOUNS:

Japanese nouns have no gender, article, and no singular/plural. ("the" and "a" etc.) For example, the word "tomodachi" can be "a friend," "the friend," "friends," or "the friends."

DESU:

is equivalent to English "am," "are," or "is." Unlike English, it doesn't change its form according to the subject. "-desu" always comes at the end of a sentence.

example:

Watashi wa Macky desu.
(I) (topic maker) (my name) (am)

OMISSION:

When the topic is obvious to the person you're talking with. it's generally omitted.

(Watashi wa) Macky desu. -- it can be:

Macky desu.

HIRAGANA

If you have japanese installed language in your pc, you will be able to see the katakana and hiragana character, in that link there there is the katakana and hiragana chart
