To elaborate on the numbers...

4, 7 and 9 have two ways of saying them.

4 = shi/yon
7 = shichi/nana
9 = kyuu/ku

The first way of saying these numbers is when you are generally counting.
The second way (yon, nana and ku) is used when describing items or information such as phone, bus and room numbers.

After 10 it is a pretty simple rule.

As 10 = juu, when counting from 11 - 19, you add the numbers (1 to 9) onto juu, for example:

11 = juu-ichi
12 = juu-ni
13 = juu-san (and so on)

When you reach 20 it turns to ni-juu (it's like saying 2x10=20)

Again, if you were to count from 21 - 29, you add the numbers (1 to 9) onto ni-juu

21 = ni-juu-ichi
22 = ni-juu-ni
23 = ni-juu-san (etc)

Therefore,
30 = san-juu
40 = yon-juu
50 = go-juu
60 = roku-juu
70 = nana-juu
80 = hachi-juu
90 = kyuu-juu

As you can see, yon-juu is used rather than shi-juu and nana-juu is used rather than shichi-juu.

And that means you can say the numbers from 1 - 99 already.

It's so hard to explain from what you've read in a Japanese learning book! xD
