I can't wait to take a Japanese class I already know more than most Japanese 1 students so Japanese 1 will be easier for me ^^~♫

There's a few. I don't know how many, but Osaka/Kansai dialect is the one you hear the most. Watch the anime Azumanga daioh if you want to hear some. Its funny and is sometimes compared to a New York accent :P

Also the Kanto dialect is the most widely used version, and since Hikki grew up in Tokyo (as well as the States) you won't hear her using Kansai. But it would sure be funny

lol. hrabbit. haha. yea +1 int. it's fun

oh well, I don't know how does a japanese word seem to be funny, but I think, as well as our language .. the filipino dialects are also funny sometimes, like the visayan's .. because of their dialect when they speak english it's really hilarious for example when they try to say this .. "Hikki is so pretty" they would say .. "Hekke es su prette" -- "e" is read as "eh". lol. I can't explain it clearly, but its funny when you hear it

i know this sounds really really messed up..but how would a guy ask out a girl in japanese? if i were to ask the girl i like...how would i do it in japanese? i figured that she might feel comfortable if i asked her in her native language...since she really cant speak english very well anyways
