Ok that Highschool thing sounds a bit underground but Naruto and D.Grayman are NOT underground. Please people, stick to finding underground gems.

I just found this nice little manga that has quite caught my interest. Its another drama/comedy/angst(romance is showing to appear) manga that really does nothing new to add to the genre but it does what its suppose to do. Add some drama and a simplistic story for people to enjoy. This manga is called Tomodachi which means "friend" in Japanese. The story really is simplistic but in a good way. It doesn't add a complicated story or anything and just really feels like a break to the many many drama mangas filling the market that try to add something new to it. Through simplicity, the story also sucks people in making you want to read it. The angst in the manga is rather simplistic too but like I said before, it is good simplicity. Unfortunately, it seems to have just started to there is only 3 chapters avaiable. It might be a good thing or a bad thing, depends on you. Check out Tomodachi here:

http://www.onemanga.com/Tomodachi/

Here are the pros and cons.

Pros: Simplistic story that is a GREAT refreshment from the already overly stuffed genre; Touching story; Sucks you in; Humor hits the mark.

Cons: Art is simplistic as well; Due to lack of chapters, the character development seems nonexistent (for now); Only 3 chapters available right now.

How about Da!Da!Da! or Seto no Hanayome?

I'm pretty sure none of them are underground though 'cause the stuff I read are pretty well know. ;__;

Ok first is Seto no Hanayome. I've only read a little of the manga because I watched the anime first.

The story begins with middle schooler Nagasumi going to visit his grandma. He "decides" to take a swim in the beach and finds himself drowning without anyone to help. Just before he passes out, he sees a mermaid come to his rescue. He wakes up to find himself alive on the beach. He tells his whole family about what he saw but no believes him. Everything changes when the a cute girl who looks exactly like the mermaid who rescued Nagasumi arrives that very night and in front of is family, tells him to "take responsiblitiy for what happened that afternoon."

The anime is extremely funny to me and a real good stress killer. I think the manga is the same as the anime but if you watched the anime first like me, the manga art would kinda surprise you. There's not much cons for anime/manga except that it could get kinda corny and times but other than that, it's very entertaining.

Read it on onemanga and see what you think.

Ooooooh yay i like this topic

I have one manga that i've read before and i don't think its mainstream since its hard to find it...well online that is, but i got the manga version.

The Name of it is "Earthian" by Yun Kouga *Warning its shounen ai*

volume 1 cover of Earthian

The story was based on an almost apocalyptic world, where humans live and angels are also there too. The angels gather information on humanity, one group for the positivity from humanity and the other group is the negativity. Each pair have a negative and positive angel to gather the data. Though the main pair is 2 male angels but one of them has black hair and wings, which in the angel society is consider like the "cancer" that when angles go bad or have commited a sin of sorts, they eventually have black hair and wings and die. Though for some reason one of them was born with it. So cutting to the chase the story (which spands to only 5 volumes) depicts humanity, different loves, a littly about psychology, and also the ending of humanity in a sense. Though there wasn't action as much but it develops the characters really nicely and there some mysterious events that lead to the current situation. THe manga also deals with forbidden love, that even though the angels can only have babies an xxxxx amount of years and thus were dying out too, but the key to their survival is also about the black cancer.

Though i have to warn that it does show some shounen ai, not explicitly but just a touch of it.

Pros: story is developed nicely, it also shows a lot subjects for you to think through and observe. Seriousness but also a tint of humor to lighten up some areas. Lovely simplistic art, that doesn't require a whole lot of details but just the slight strokes of ink gives a lot of meaning.Nice subtlety in the writing without feeling the need to shove it in your face, the author also wrote it in a way knowing that her readers will understand her stories without blatancy

Cons: some people might not like shounen ai *even though i think any mature person could read through it and not be disgusted* some parts may be slow.

Ummm yea....i think i lost myself in the summary, i suck lol. But right now i can't find any online source that people could read, but i'll do show the covers *and the covers was redrawn for a 2nd release in 2002*

Oh wait! I remember reading this not to long ago! Probably like 4 days ago! Yeah I thought it was all right, but the plot of really predictable and it seemed to have gotten pretty repetitive so I didn't add this one to the gems.

Hey! I got another gem for everyone!

All right. Who here read/watched Eureka Seven? Ok well if you are a fan of Eureka Seven, you might as well check out the author's next work, Deadman Wonderland. Deadman Wonderland is an action genre manga and it sure is interesting. Just cause I'm so lazy right now, heres a brief summary of what is happening in the story. "Ganta Igarashi has been convicted of a crime that he hasn't committed, and sent to a new, privately owned and operated prison, where the inmates are the main attraction in a modern day twist to the gladiatorial coliseums of ancient times. Throw in a healthy dose of weird little girl, some new-found super powers, and a little conspiracy theory, and you have Deadman Wonderland." - OneManga. The description doesn't sound too entertaining, but seriously, this manga sucks you in pretty well and I'm enjoying every bit of it. Check it out here:

http://www.onemanga.com/Deadman_Wonderland/

Here are the pros and cons.

Pros: Extremely well made story that sucks you into the plot filled with mystery and conspiracy; Character's abilities are awesome; Bloody goodness; Good battle scenes; Character development is at the perfect pace of the manga; Very unique art-style thats appealing to look at (Eureka Seven art = ); Hard to let go when you start reading.

Cons: Partial Nudity (?); Bloody mangas might not be your thing; Only 11 chapters at the moment.
