Manchester United seemed unwilling to let go of Vidic or Rooney, but they may have to now. UEFA passed new rules effective 2012 saying all clubs competing in Europa and CL must, MUST break an even bankroll otherwise they can not compete. Losing ?150m a season is a big mountain to climb..and with Sir Alex wanting to spend every window, this debt of theirs is only getting bigger. And United today played Scottish club Rangers to kick off the group stage of CL..sluggish is all I can say. Sir Alex I guess underestimated Rangers because he had made 10 changes to his starting XI with Darren Fletcher the only one returning. A match built for stars it was for United and Liverpool. Steven Gerrard finally picked up the burden of carrying Liverpool with his double and what seemed to secure a point against Manchester. But Berbatov had other plans as he was only settling for 3 points with a match winning hatty. More effective he has become at striker. Looked great preseason, he looks as if he wants to play well in red. There were rumors Berbatov was on the chopping block if he had a subpar year.
