According to nikkei TRENDY net article, Oricon has release Japan Top 10 2008. EXILE's "EXILE LOVE" reach the top spot and Utada Hikaru's "HEART STATION" at #5. In itunes 2008 Top Song Utada Hikaru's "Prisoner of Love" reach #3. Congratulation!
But in itunes 2008 Top Album, Utada Hikaru's "HEART STATION" reach the top spot in #1. Beating other competitor like , Coldplay "Viva la Vida" #2, Namie Amuro's "BEST FICTION" #3, Superfly's "Superfly" #4 and EXILE's "EXILE CATCHY BEST" #5. Congratulation to Utada Hikaru "HEART STATION" being the number one album in 2008   |

Is the Itunes chart just for Japan or the World. I only ask because I noticed Coldplay is number 2 and I had no idea they were that popular in Japan.

You'd be surprised when it comes to things like that. Many American bands make it big in Japan rather than over here, even if it wasn't their intention. I'm guessing it's only for Japan, simply because we download a lot over here, too. There are a lot of people in Japan but I doubt they download more than the rest of the world put together, if that makes sense.
