Once again, im with Aijin. Yeah I'm kinda worried about it, but it shouldnt be a problem, Utada has fans, and we'll help her out!

It seems even in a bad economy people will buy music and go to movies. I don't think she'll take a huge hit. Those who pirate the music online will still do so, and those who would buy the CD will still do so. I'm not say it won't affect her at all, but it's not likey to effect the sales MUCH. I think someone who would just splurge on a random CD from a girl they've never heard of is a little less likey to do so, but those who hear her music and like it will buy it! I just know it.

I'm not saying it will have a HUGE affect, but I'm sure that it will nevertheless have some affects.

I mean, I live in a quite small town, about only 50k living here. My family owns a bowling alley, and we can clearly see the differences from only last year and now. the ppl coming to bowl is much fewer than last year. And as bowing is such small buisiness I think it shows even more how the economy keeps ppl away from stuff they usually would do.
And seriously, why would ppl lay money on someone they don't know (for new fans), in these times, when the album can be downloaded on the internet?

Utada should have started promoting during the Presidential election. With all this "Utada, Obama" stuff, she would have attracted a lot of fans. Now Obama's in the hot-seat, and Utada's lost her chance! =P lmao

Actually, I don't really think so. I think her physical sales won't be extremely large, but with digital copies of albums out for $10.00 on iTunes, I'm pretty sure anyone who's really interested in her music will buy it. We've entered a different age. People don't have to pay S&H/tax, plus all the costs of preparing a CD with casing and everything. Physical copies are for harcore fans now-a-days. The average person will just sign onto iTunes and download it for the asking price. That's how I see it going down.
