I agree that pop is definitely decided by the times as opposed to the sound.

I doubt that Island has given up on her because it'd hurt her image; rather the other way around. They suddenly decided that Hikaru wasn't worth the effort. I have no idea why: they didn't even try much.

Or maybe Hikaru just hates promoting. It's so dissapointing to see TITO bomb like this.

How much promos are considered enough?

I don't live in the west but honestly, I thought she had done enough promos.

I believe quality is more important than quantity. (e.g. appearing once in American Idol is better than organizing 10 meet sessions.)

Looking at the situation now, I have to admit that TITO is generally quite forgettable. It doesn't have THE song to sustain itself.

And of course, the style is not appealing to the public. Even in Asia, we tend to listen to what the west hears. So even if she's an Asian, she has to be famous in the west first before she will get airtime on our English media.

But, I am still rooting for her English songs.
