Yeah, I agree with what SwallowTail has said, maybe spilling the drink would smudge the make-up. and lipstick marks will be left at the bottle.

I think that drinking from the straw also leaves a smaller lipstick mark, and it also looks for "refine" for a girl to drink from a straw, because I think that it would spoil the image if a girl drink directly from a bottle...

Ah my bad i realize i was speaking from a dudes Point of View. It looks perfectly cute and attractive as well as functional for a girl to drink with a straw. If a guy does it then he would look weird, especially trying to find it when he doesn't get it the first time.

I've been living in Seoul and Tokyo for half a year now and I've been drinking mineral water like that most of the time. It doesn't ruin the makeup, especially lipstick most painstakingly put on. It's more hygienic this way too, in case you drop the cap, and doesn't spill as easily.

It's not just me. I see lots of women drinking water like that here. No one ever leaves home without makeup on and it'd be best not to smudge anything, if possible. :)
