I did not see a thread for her.
Alan Dawa Dolma is a jpop who was born in China and is of Tibetan descent. Her music is very beautiful and her debut album, Voice of EARTH is nothing short of stunning. In 2006 she auditioned for the label Avex in China and was actually contacted to have a career in Japan. Check her out sometime =P

Singles:
Ashita e no Sanka
Hitotsu
Natsukashii Mirai: Longing Future
Sora Uta
Kaze no Tegami
Red Cliff-Shin Sen
Megumi no Ame
Gunjou no Tani
Kuon no Kawa
Ballad: Namonaki Koi no Uta

Albums:
Voice of EARTH (debut Japanese album)
Xin De Dong Fang (debut Mandarin album)

Here's her debut single Ashita e no Sanka:

Alan has a beautiful voice and I like it when she does that wailing thing, but I feel that she is only restricted to ballads. The woman only sings ballads, which makes me lethargic. Well, she's cute too.

Mika Nakashima? I like Mika, even though I haven't listened to her since her "Yes" album was released. I remember it having a slight gospel, jazz and reggae sound to it. And I loved it. It's been a longer time since I listened to her earlier works.

But a lot of Asian ballads are boring, unless there is something rather captivating and unique about it.

I wasn't following Mika when it happened but she got her first #1 album in November.Voice wasn't too shabby but it had a lot of previously released songs.

wow, i like her voice. i think it's beautiful. if she's restricted to only ballads, then that's better for me.
she's gorgeous, as well. really, i'm interested in looking into more of her stuff now. thanks :)

Yes, although alan's main strength is singing ballads, she does have a couple of nice non ballad songs, which include Sora Uta, Kaze no Tegami, and Sakura Modern (B-side to the Ashita e no Sanka single) and BRAVE from her album Voice of EARTH. I dont really consider Gunjou no Tani a ballad either...its more rock to me...^^
