I'm from the philippines too. All my close friends over there know Hikki coz of First Love.
Some music channels also played hikki's MVs.
The ones i've seen are Can you keep a secret? and AUTOMATIC. I fell in love with both.

2 artists in the philippines had their version of FL
1. Jessa Zaragoza sung an English version of FL
2. Toni Gonzaga kinda copied FL's melody

Most new fans know her from KH like other fellow PINOYS stated.

I couldn't believe it when traveling played on my local radio station.

FL seems to be super popular.

It's funny how the song got popular in Malaysia a few years after its release. (sweat)

In Singapore, Jpop isnt popular at all. Most of my friends do not know Hikki, and a few of them know her through the song "First Love". Ayumi is more popular here somehow.

Well, some Filipinos stated it below. However, I have an additional here:

1. Some random indie-rap artists copy first love and include it in their recording.

2. Local TV Stations play Hikki's songs in their show. Particularly, in ABS-CBN where I heard 5 of Hikki's songs played in Kim Chiu's 18th birthday, and also in the local reality tv show Pinoy Dream Academy
, Prisoner of Love was played as background music.

3. Traveling, Automatic and First Love was played on the radios during the 90's.

4. In the segment top 5 of Myx, Hikki was once featured. They included her works from First Love to some tracks of Ultra Blue. (This was years ago)

5. The most famous Japanese song here (aside from the theme song of Voltes V and Pizzicato Five's Sweet Soul Revue) is First Love.

6. The only Japanese artist whose albums are sold here, is Hikki.

i did not know that traveling was played on the radio back then. automatic and first love i knew was played and even ripped-off (let their heads roll!!!) - shame on them.

i remember seeing the MV for sakura drops for the first time, it gave me chills. i was so amazed how beautiful hikaru really was.

its a shame that other jpop artists are not sold back at home. it would be nice if you could have l arc en ciels stuff.

I once heard 'Close to you' sung by Cubic U on the radio in Indonesia. My dad also heard automatic being played and bought Single collection vol. 1 and I was also starting to like hikki then. I like to check music stores to see if they sold hikki's music. They have most of her albums, but DVD's are rare. Funny, i found bohemian summer in a chinese quarter in melbourne australia. It was fake, though, I think, from taiwan.

Are you sure that her stuff from Taiwan are fake? Because most of her CDs which are sold in my country are from Taiwan and I don't think they're fake. Most probably not the ones that they directly import from Japan because those are really pricey.

No, just the bohemian summer dvd. The quality wasn't that good, the menu wasn't well done. My Ultra Blue CD was from taiwan actually and it looked original.

I guess it's hard to check whether they are genuine ones or not but usually the genuine ones come with those weird forms for you to fill in so that you can send them back to the record company or something like that. Idk what it says but the address is written there though.

Btw your Ultra Blue might most probably be an original since it was profoundly promoted in Taiwan when it was first released.
