Simple and Clean was the first song of hers that I heard (on the Kingdom Hearts commercials) but then in 2007 I discovered a video on YouTube that had the chorus of all of her singles to date along with a clip of the music video and some info about chart rankings and stuff (sort of like a video discography, I'd link it but it's been taken down) and I loved how all of her songs were so different - so I guess you could say the song that got me hooked was all of them!

Simple and Clean. Back then I didn't even know who sung it. But a few years later I started hearing her name and looked her up to find out that she was the one who sung it. XD

It was later that year when I went to an anime con, I picked up a CD with her name on it (First Love), and ironically, fell in love with her.

the very first song that got me hooked on hikaru was "first love". i don't quite remember how i first heard the song, but i heard it and love it 2 seconds into the song.

It was FIRST LOVE, when I heard it on the Japanese drama, "Majyo no Jyouken". I was taken aback by the clarity in which she sang the English lyrics. Not only did she pronounce everything with no detectable Japanese accent, the English lyrics actually made sense and tied into the song. At this point in J-Pop, I found that any English used in songs did not make any sense, and it was shocking to hear it being used so effectively. It shocked me even more when I found out that she was 15 when she wrote and recorded the song because her voice seemed so deep and the lyrics were extremely mature for a teenager!!!
