Seems like people are predicting Miami, LA, and Texas (and maybe another east coast city).

My suggestion right now, is those from those cities, since you know your areas the best, check out your local venues... small to medium sized venues. Look up their websites, make some calls ... and you may find event info on an Utada performance ;)

Then of course plz let us know~

A lot of people seem to be insulted by that fact (well, not a TON, but a significant amount). I think it's silly. Some of the best, even the most popular, artists in the world play in small or medium-sized venues because it makes shows more affordable for fans. Can you imagine the price of going to see Utada in a stadium show? Sure, it might pay off in some way, but all of the excess tech work and booking amounts would skyrocket the ticket prices. Especially since I'm probably going to be paying for four tickets, medium-sized is good for me.

One of those venues even has Lady GaGa slated to appear. Smart artists know that if they want to sell out concerts and really reach their fans they have to make efficient choices. It doesn't matter how popular or talented they are, fans will see what fans can afford. And in this economic situation, fans can't afford large-venue tickets to see relatively small-time (at least domestically) artists. That might work for Hikki in Japan, but here in the U.S., less really is more.

That's my rant on that. I'm off to rehearsal. When I come back, there better be an LA spot announced or I'm going to eat my cat! Are you listening Miley Cyrus- I mean Hikaru Utada? D<

Heh, yeah, one of my favorite artists, Amanda Palmer, pretty much ONLY plays the cozier stops because she knows it's what her fans can come to. It's more important to her that her fans see her live in some capacity than never see her live because she's stuck to the multi-thousand seating stadiums. Not like she could really sell out one of those anyway, to be honest, but even if she could I doubt that's where she'd want to play. If anything, smaller venues means a more up-close-and-personal feel to the concerts! That's what I like in a show. Big lights and wide-screen panels are fine and dandy, but I'd rather feel the music and forget the theatrics when it comes down to it. As long as I can do that I'm a happy cub.

Ok, now I'm really going! <.< >.>
