ADMIN EDIT: PLEASE DONT DOUBLE POST

While all of you are talking about how you stood in line for several hours and blah blah blah. I got there at 8:30PM and I was pretty close to the front.

It was good to see many Japanese people and annoying to see the wannabe Japanese white and black kids.

I don't drink alcohol but I drank and got a little drunk.
My friends said I was extra crazy and funny because I talked to everyone around me.
I'm usually shy but when the few rare times I drink I get drunk easily.
I drank barely 1/4 a glass of Long Island and I was already buzzed

During the concert when it was real quiet after she finished a song I yelled out, kekkon shite (I just realized this "utada" website doesn't take japanese characters :rolling eyes: means, "Will you marry me?" in English. She heard me and looked at me. She translated to the crowd what I said in Japanese and she jokingly responded, "Hmm, that's a really tough decision, I can't give you an answer right now".

I met her after the concert at her hotel and she autographed my poster!

I really enjoyed talking to this Japanese girl who lives near me. We spoke in Japanese and we both agree that wannabe Japanese kids who watch anime' and try so hard to act and look Japanese are highlly annoying.

If you're being serious: I understand your prejudices and racism, but there's no such thing as acting a race or culture. It's what you grew up learning. I can't stand racist bastards. See, it's those "wannabes" that support music, and will make Utada big in the US.

But if you're joking, then I'm a wannabe!!

Remember, there's only one race, and that's the human race!

well, I think they got mad because they felt you were trying to dup them, or trick them. you stood in line instead of calling the venue hoping they would be lenient on you out of all the 16 year olds that may have showed up and stood in line a long time and flew all the way there. They figured you were a crazed fan who had no respect for the rules, that's why they got rough with you. They could've been "sensitive" but then just about anybody would've been able to come on in, whether a year younger, or two. You give one person an inch, they'll take it a mile. With all the terrorism happening because ppl want to be SO SENSITIVE, we've had thousands of people killed. So, please know where you're going before you go, and be extra prepared when you do. You should never go somewhere you know nothing about. what are they supposed to do? Well, a grown-up person would know that if you try to dup somebody, that's enough for them to get mad. There are no exceptions to the rules if everybody decided to play the fool.

I do feel bad your experience turned out like that. But you probably need to consider to play by the rules, or don't play the game. If you're playing a game, you don't want anyone to try to find loop holes to cheat do you? If they see you try, they would not respect you, and think of you as a liar, no matter where you come from.

Wait a second, if I was trying to dupe them at all, I would've brought a fake ID. I wasn't duping anybody. I don't know where you're coming from comparing my situation to terrorists, but some people seem to have a problem with me being fine with my position of being placed out of the concert. The reason they presented was senseless to me, but that's beside the point.

The part you don't seem to understand is the part where I tried to watch Utada live but didn't make it, and that's all there is to it. I wasn't playing any games, all I wanted to was to watch her live, and I didn't make it, PERIOD. Why are people digging up all this stuff that didn't happen or what their interpretation is?! I explained everything over and over and yet people are comparing me to terrorists and trying to get attention by announcing that in any space they find when really, it won't make a difference now. The concert was a week ago and we're still getting on with this?! Why don't you focus on the fans who did make it and are so happy they watched Utada live?! My report was written long before they ever came out of the concert, they should be making the news now.

I apologize to all the fans who keep having to read whatever it is I have to say to explain myself, I honestly have nothing else to say if people are too busy comparing me to terrorists and can't see that I'm just an international fan who wanted to watch Utada live and wasn't able to make it and still has to deal with others telling me stuff that isn't exactly new by now. If you don't have anything constructive to say, I don't know why you're replying to me and causing a mess in a forum about this deal. If you'd like, send me a PM instead of commenting on my blog and then going off to forums to tell me the same thing.

Yes, I do understand it was a 17+ concert and yes, I was taking a risk, but I wasn't meant to be coming to the Chicago concert, it was like my last chance, and I thought that the way I was received was pretty brutal, it wasn't like I just woke up one day and decided to try and break the security of a 17+ concert. I'm not saying they should've broken the law or anything, but the liquor excuse they gave me got me very upset. But it's past now . . . I took a chance and it didn't work and I wasted a whole day on this. I'll try contacting IDJ and/or the House of Blues about this like some of you suggested :) I just don't wanna make it sound like I want to be treated as VIP just because I came from "Mars", it's just that the service I received even coming from so far was very dreadful. Don't get me wrong.

@meekobiscuit Thank you for being so sweet!~ :D

@Pips_Paradise Thank you so much! I'll PM you my e-mail and see if I can attend :D I'd be missing a lot of school days, but who knows! :D XD It's very sweet of you ~

The security was VERY strict. First they checked ID, then they let in the line through the back to have metal detectors check you and stuff. It was very intimidating and the security was everywhere o.o The cameras weren't allowed at all if not for a fee, but they made people store their cameras at some lockers or whatnot.

I did see three kids who must've come from far away, but didn't bring regular I.D. They brought school I.D.s I admit that security was rough, but they had to be because if they were too lenient on you, that would be unfair to the 16 year olds that wanted to purchase a ticket but knew they weren't allowed. You were no exception, except you stood in line and flew from Brazil. If they were too lenient, someone could push past them and go against them. You have to understand why they were being harsh. Ppl in Chi-town can get ugly and outright aggressive with security.....

I understand :) Except I'm not from Chinatown if I'm from Brazil XD hahah but I understand what you mean, but they truly were being very rude, independent of who it was they were talking to, and if the violent people didn't get violent from the chaos, they would certainly get violent from the way they were being treated. Just like people think I shouldn't have come all the way to POSSIBLY see the concert, the security shouldn't have treated the fans rudely with the POSSIBILITY they would be violent, no?

I know you're trying to clear things up for me and I totally respect that, because you're being very sweet and still getting your point across, so I thank you ~ It's very thoughtful ^^ It's just that all is done now and there's nothing any of us can do, so telling me I wouldn't get in isn't exactly necessary, since I witnessed that first-hand.

Thank you for your clarification, though, and for being so cool about it! ^^

So I am not going to post much cause I just got home and it is 4 in the morning. Yawnyawnyawn. That was SUCH an amazing concert. Like insanely good. Woah good. Mind blown good. Some people may not have liked the bass but I loved it.

The one thing I did have a problem with is.. no offense meant or nothing.. but WTF is with the fast pass? That is house of blues getting greedy. I was waiting outside since 4:30.. in the cold and snow and I was literally 5 people from the front and then people who bought 15 dollars of stuff from HOB got to skip to the front. Was that how it was in the other venues?

My gratitude to those people who let a short blonde and a short asian stand in front of them! If you are on here, I owe you guys. This guy was like 6 foot ALOT and my friend and I are 5'1 and 5'3 and doomed. Once we stood in front of those guys it was great though.

Hmm... mad props to the very very VERY enthusiastic white guy up on the left balcony. That was.. wow. You were excited.

I'm wondering...were you standing next to me??? Because I remembered someone pointing that same person out to me. lol were you short and blonde?? I was short too and ppl put me in the front to see. I got there late...and didn't buy $15 worth of nothing. That guy made it really entertaining. Everyone did, even the guy with the mask.

Yea, me and my twin sis had a blast!!!! I couldn't believe I was seeing her in concert! Sorry ppl who hated it, but I was singing along with her and shouting out ridiculous nonsense! lol

But she sounds fabulous live, and she played all the music anyone could want, and was very personable, of course ppl are going to complain. I complained about no merchandise...But she gave the fans what they wanted and I'm just satisfied that she actually came to CHICAGO!!!

I tend to think that 4Ivy's situation is different than just showing up trying to get in while underaged.

He HAD tickets to LA show and the flight was cancelled. IF HOB told him that his tickets would transfer for Chicago which had an age restriction while LA didn't, then HOB lied.

This is known as Aristotelian logic. It's rarer these days for people to think this way, and I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't of graduated in philosophy. Basically speaking, tickets have an intrinsic value (that is if you have em you get in). If HOB said his tickets were good for Chicago and he couldn't get in, then the intrinsic value of the tickets has absolved. This completely defeats the purpose of transfering the tickets in the first place. Basically they cheated him.

But of course conditional logic dictates that nothing has intrinsic value. Value is dependent on the situation(it's relative). Technically the tickets were still good, but just not good for 4Ivy because he was 16. The law of 17+ supercedes the value. HOB didn't lie to him because HOB isn't responsible for the age of the owner, just the validity of the tickets as long as it follows the law.

Take your pick.
It's easier for me to see it from 4Ivy's perspective. A person's word supercedes written law because a person is living. This is the main reason I'm NOT a lawyer. Letter is given higher value than life. I get irritated thinking about it.

All that aside, they didn't card me when I ordered whiskey... TWICE!

Thank you for believing in me! ^^ Wow ~ Philosophy lessons! :D That's very interesting! ~

Well... It has the meaning "please sing the song Take on Me" and it has the meaning of the song ( I shouldn't have to explain that, just listen or read the lyrics). Double meaning was intentional.
So if you heard it well then maybe she did, and she yelled "WHAT!!!???" as if she was incredulous. "What kind of crazy man would yell that!!!???"

You may claim that you're disappointed with the staff and service at the HoB, but the fact still remains that you tried attending a concert you didn't meet the age requirement for, when you knew full well what the required age was. When I was 15 I didn't try to get my license on the off chance that the DMV would let me, even though I know the age requirement is 16...

As for the staff, there's a curfew for the city, there was the issue with the alcohol license, there was the simple fact that it was clearly marked what the age requirement was and I'd imagine you standing in line knowing you're underage is a waste of time for the staff to deal with.

Anything else?

"Not to sound rude" but how is it any of your concern how much anyone spends to see their idol? @_@ It's not about what you would do. This is what makes us different, this and the fact that I don't go around questioning international fans around forums.
