Just got home. It was a great great great concert. I was about a car length from Hikaru the whole night and she is such a professional. In this small venue it was so intimate that she had conversations with the crowd. The set was the same as the LA concert. I never saw so many J-folks out for the night. I'd say it was 80-90% Asians and there were some that flew from Japan.

I left work early to get in line at 4:30 PM and the line was about 100 folks long at that time. Both in front of me and behind me were many Japanese speaking folks so a lot of Japanese students and nationals were there. It was a lot of standing almost 6 1/2 hours for the night. I'm stiff. After waiting outside so long, you just want Hikaru to start but the warmup DJ from NYC mixed it for an hour. I think doors opened at 7:15, DJ on from 8 to 9 and Hikaru on from 9:15 to 11:00. Maybe I should have sat at the bar for a rest but it was farther away so I just stood up. It was a SRO with very few seats. Kinda of like being in an elevator. Nothing like seeing her up close to see her facial expressions on the songs.

OK, she wore a mid calf magenta dress with over the knee black stockings and black boots. Very sexy on the lower half I might add. I noticed a black star ring on her right hand. Her hair length was longer that in the recent pictures about shoulder length with sort of a friz for body. She was very cute and there were many I luv yous going back and forth. Someone had a sign with some wrong kanji and she commented on it that they don't write a lot of Japanese and it was funny.

I thought the Japanese songs were great and popular with the crowd. Automatic has to be the best crowd pleaser with so many folks singing "it's automatic". Some of the new songs really rock but I'm less familiar with them. You could see her anger in the song YMMWTBAM as she ended it wacking the drums. All of the ballads were good and she is very daring to sing Kremlin Dusk with all those precise notes. It showcases her ability to do it. Sakura drops she adjusted a bit to not do the very high notes from a younger vocal chord time. She commented about Seattle rain and how there are so many way to describe the rain in Japanese. She noted that so many of her songs have the rain in it too. But no rain today.

Just a great concert that I very much enjoyed. I can now die happy and check off having gone to her concert as something I needed do. She wants to be able to return in 10 years and hopes to still be able to sing Automatic. I'll be there.

concert was absolutley awesome!

fortunately i knew how the showbox concerts go, so i was able to just walk in at 4 pm, got me and my wife tickets that allowed us to go in when the show started, and proceeded to enjoy hearing the dress rehearsals that they were doing.....hearing them do Stay Gold, and Dirty Desire before the show was great!

The absolute best part was being in the front....if she wanted to, she coulda bent down to us and grabbed our hands, we were THAT CLOSE! I was awe struck when she came out....i tell you guys that she looks absolutely better in person....

As many has stated in the LA thread...mike rizzo is not that great, it's no fault of his own, he just seemed so outta place IMO...

of course the show was EPIC, once in a lifetime opp, she talked about the weather, joked along her crewmates about how one of the keyboard guys was possibly watching porn on his macbook....rofl....

I thought I would be able to sneak more pix for you guys and myself....but the security there was TIGHT!!!!!....they were cracking down left and right....it was a shame honestly....this was the best i could do...you can only imagine how secretive i had to be in the front row....

oh....and we made eye contact during automatic....that made me go

Well, I am in a hotel room right now in Seattle and after fighting the cruddy wifi for an hour, I finally am online and can share my experience. :)

I got there a lot earlier then I expected, around 4:30. I got in line right away and chatted a little with the people behind and in front of me. One thing that was really annoying though was even though I got there early and was pretty close up to the front of the line, a lot of people were able to cut in right at the front because their friends were "holding spots for them." Of course there is nothing you can do, but it kinda is frustrating getting there early only to be passed up by people who only have to wait half the time you do, but oh well.

So as another already mentioned, the line started moving around 7:15. By then the line was MASSIVE, waaaaay bigger then I expected, which makes me glad I got there early cause once I got in I was able to get about 6 feet or so away from the gate/stage.

Now I'll just get the annoying part out of the way first.....I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE CUT IN FRONT OF YOU. I had these 2 annoying girls that kept trying to get in front of me but thankfully I held my ground. Eventually they gave up and left. A couple others were sadly able to cut in front of me. But here's the best part. There was some guy who was trying to cut through me, but I held my ground. But then his girlfriend or something grabbed his hand and pulled him through, but as he was moving, I smacked him with my elbow a few times, lol. There were a couple Japanese girls who laughed and thought I was cool doing that, and agreed that people were cutting in too much.....but that was the only bad part....now to the good stuff.

Mike Rizzo was pretty cool....a little boring and his music wasn't really my taste, but I thought it was pretty cool seeing him do his DJ thing. I also thought he was pretty hot. ;) Loved his gotee!

But then the room darkened and we got to hear the awesome OPENING. Then wonderful Hikki came out and the whole room went wild. She sang On and On, which was an awesome opener. I found it so funny how the "honeys if your gay" part got a bunch of people applauding, I guess she has a lot of gay fans, lol. FYI, awesome, Poppin, which was awesome with the "girls, you know we have it better then the boys" part. Then This One was amazing......

Then she sang the Passion/Sanctuary mix and by the middle of the song, I started bawling, lol. Seeing her RIGHT there pouring her heart and soul out to us, and just the look on her face....it really is amazing to see her sing, she just puts everything into her songs.

SAKURA Drops was AMAZING. Her playing on piano was just stunning. Stay Gold was awesome as well, I loved how the song was made a bit heavier then the album version.

And then OMG the BEST part of the night....Devil Inside, Kremlin Dusk, and You Make Me Want to be a Man. Pretty much imagine them in a very similar setup like UTADA UNITED....but better, yes, better. Devil Inside started up slow, dark, and creepy. Hikki sang Kremlin Dusk....better then the album version and better then Utada United. Her vocals were spot on and amazing through the whole thing....I wish I could just experience that one more time....
Then it streamed right into YMMWTBAM, which had a awesome drum heavy opening with the creepy robotic "uhhhhhhh" from Hikki. I cannot believe how amazing that song was....and it even had a loud yelling and guitar solo at the end, along with Hikki grabbing drumsticks and banging the drums herself at the end. :)

The Placebo cover was AWESOME. The rest of the songs were in a very similar setup to the album versions, although Apple and Cinnamon was a bit heavier. First Love was stunning, Automatic was fun, Come Back to Me was lovely, Can You Keep a Secret? was hot, lol. By the way, her pink dress was adorable. :) Dirty Desire was so awesome, especially the ending part, everyone put their hands up and went along with the great groove. lol

Then she came back out with Simple and Clean.....I will proudly admit that the song made me cry my eyes out, lol. That song is special to me in so many ways....also I'd say it probably got the most applause from the audience when it started, lol.
OH, and here's what's awesome. Towards the end of the song she did that "lalalalalalalala" part that she used in Hikari for the UTADA UNITED tour...that was great, it touched my heart in so many ways. And then Me Muero, which was such an awesome song live.

Overall it was definitely THE BEST concert I have ever been to. Her voice was.....stunning, beautiful, wonderful, amazing in so many ways. I was not expecting her to sound THAT good, I'd say she sounded better then the way she sounds on her albums. I know can say for certain that her voice DID NOT get messed up from Utada United, she sounds just as amazing as she did 5 years ago. She captures you in a way that is indescribable. It was an amazing/unbelievable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Utada Hikaru is....she made me speechless. Even now I am still in shock....anyway, perhaps I am rambling too much here, lol.

Also a couple other things to mention. Everyone sang happy birthday to her. :) She was adorable, and so down to earth. She talked about how she was born on a cold Winter day and so she likes the cold better then the heat, and saying she was happy that it wasn't raining so we wouldn't be waiting outside in it, lol. She mentioned that she hasn't been on the Space Needle, and the crowd went like, "OMG WHAT!?" and then she got an embarrased look on her face and said "oops" LOL. It was so cute. Then here's what's awesome. At one point she was talking and one guy yelled out something about her looks....then she said something like, "well, after all this singing I'll be sweaty and stuff." Then I yelled out loudly "YOUR ALWAYS HOT HIKKI" and she smirked and said, "well, I'd like you to see me when I wake up in the morning!" I was like, OMG, SHE RESPONDED TO ME!!!!!" That was awesome. At the end she threw out baseballs to the crowd, which sadly I didn't get, lol. Man, she looked fabulous....oh, and as someone else mentioned, she was asking Matt the band leader if he was looking at porn on the Mac, lol. She was so nice to everyone. Someone screamed out at one point "I LOVE YOU", and she was like, "I love you too!" lol. Also after it was done I stayed back a bit and got to say hi quick to David and Taku, one of the keyboardists and the percussionist. They waved at me and I was like, "YOU WERE AWESOME!" and they said thanks and waved, lol. All the band members were hot, especially Matt. Oh, and yesterday (wednesday) was Sam's (the bassits/keyboardist) birthday, so Utada and all of us sang Happy Birthday to him, so maybe try to do the same for whoever is at the next few concerts. :)

Anyway, sorry for mixing up a lot of things, but I'm soooo tired out and am not thinking straight, lol. If I remember anything I forgot to mention I'll post it...sorry for the long post, but tonight was amazing and I had so much to say. Anyway, good night everyone!
