dj Pho,
In addition here is my personal favorite reference chart for frequencies. Much more detailed than the one mentioned previously. frequencies-of-common-instruments Hope that helps B-] |

Hi SwallowTail, Its not the mp3 file format that makes parts of the song unclear. What you heard can only be rectified in the mix down phase of the track creation process. :) |

DAW - Digital Audio Workstation
I use Logic with VSTs as Spectrasonics Omnisphere and Trilogy. PSP Audioware for mastering purposes and Rob Papen Predator for synths. Kick - sounds distorted unless you were going for that sound and it lacks presence within the track. I suggest you layer kicks. by layering kicks you'll come up with much better results: increased presence and sound. EQ is key when layering as you must . Also what I recommend, once you find a kick sound you created and like, save it to a sampler. Hi Hats needs more presence The synths are fine. The bass drums - tighten them up a bit (EQ , Compressor) I also hear distortion throughout the second half of the track aside from the kick. Are any of the tracks clipping? If so adjust volume. It is not necessary to increase volume to make it louder, That is where compressors and EQ comes in. don't go extreme with them two. Even if the adjustments are subtle, it still contributes. All in all, you arrangements are good and the track is well paced. Remember, EQ and Compressors are your best friend. They help give each instrument a piece of the pie, you can say. Side note: Frequencies are your best friend as well. Learn them. Here is a chart to use for reference - Future Magazine Frequency Chart |

dj pho, i commend you for your effort. to be technical, dj and producing are separate entities. as a dj, I am sure you are aware, focus should be on: track selection, interaction, and able to read the crowd. as a producer there are many factors to focus on as well as many technicalities such as arrangements, EQs, mix downs and masters but more importantly as an artist. Its good to cater to an audience but at the same time you can't lose your individualism.
Good mix though :) Which DAW have you used? As well as VSTs? I'm always curious to what others use. Consider it, the nerdy side of myself. B] Personally, I enjoy Logic. Anyhow, I g2g at the moment. I'll write more in depth on your track. my focus will be not on your samples you've used but on your technique :) ciao |

Well with your remix, i don't mind to download flac file. If i can hear the whole instrument and her voice in crystal clear sound . Even though it will took 40 MB file for 1 music file.

flac is better but also crazily uncompresssed which means it takes a lot of space and isn't convenient to share.
What do you mean it's not that clear? Do you mean her voice? I made it sound cheap quality on purpose. |
