Is it odd or normal to have a single come out so late after the album was out? Just wondering.

Thanks for doing some of the work for me guys, haha. I've been traveling back from Vegas and working, hopefully I can get that list for you tomorrow.

Since they are airing it on the Dance stations, how would you go about getting it on a local station? I know in Las Vegas we have VIBE 94.5 which is all dance and remixes, and Dirty Desire would fit in nicely with the music they play!

I remember when Scott was doing all the work on Come Back he said NOT to get in touch with them if it hadn't played before because it'd annoy the station and they would possibly not pick it up (or something along those lines). But VIBE has an email for the guy who does the music program. Would it be worth it suggesting the song? Or just wait it out and hope? How do you do this? Because this station would be FABULOUS exposure in Vegas. Suggestions would rock.

Feel free to request your heart out at Vibe 94.5 if you know how to contact them. I'd suggest going to their dedicated request line or website if they have it before going straight to the music director but I wouldn't be scared. It's your local station and the song's been out for a while and is already on the dance charts so there's no issue in you requesting the song to them.

In fact, my one regret in our whole campaign for "Come Back to Me" was that I held on to my "don't request until your station has played it" rule WAY too long. While it's true that DJs might have gotten suspicious of getting tons of requests *right after* the adds date, I think we only needed to wait a week or two. A group of dedicated fans in San Diego made the song a bona fide local hit in that town due to their massive requests and I don't think they waited for the stations there to play it first. I try not to beat myself up about it but I wonder if we could have gotten the song more exposure if I hadn't been telling everyone to wait for so long. Oh well, live and learn :-\

While it's not the usual schedule for a single release, it's also not totally unheard of. It's common for an act to release a single while on tour, which is what's happening here.

I sent out an email to my local rhythm / dance station's music director, saying that I'd first heard Utada on his station, looked into her music some more, and liked it. Not quite true... but.... they Did play CBTM every now and then when it first came out. fingers crossed. Hopefully if it does well on the dance charts and some stations play it, it could become a full single.

I kinda need help finding stations in either Sarasota or Tampa, Fl to see if they will play " Dirty Desire". I just moved back to Florida after spending time in Indiana.

Feel free to request at your local pop and rhythmic stations as well, the info can be found at the original CBTM Radio Station List Thread

(I also know that there are a number of dance radio stations on the HD radio signal. HD radio isn't real big yet and I don't think their spins are monitored by BDS or MediaBase so I haven't listed them. If people here want them listed I'll look them up).

REQUEST YOUR HEARTS OUT, GUYS!

I sent Vibe an email and mentioned it on the message board on the front. Fingers crossed! I'll keep trying. If people get bored they can post on the front page of VIBE Vegas saying they want some Utada. ;] I'm thinking chances are good, they were playing 'I Did it for Love' by BoA for a little while there.

I don't have satellite radio, so I can't really gauge how often our requests are filled at BPM, or how many requests they get overall in a day, but since it's the biggest dance station and reaches such a large audience, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if we went an extra mile. In addition to our "normal" requests, we could do more concentrated requests... Some of us could each send one request over a short period of time. If only 20 of us did it, for instance, in a two-hour time period that's still more attention-grabbing to the DJ than sparse, single requests. It's like saying "hey, this song is good. play it," except in caps lock. I did it once at a skating rink with my friends until they played My Immortal. lol. On the other hand though, I don't think it's something we should get into a habit of doing like 12 times a day or anything, that'll just annoy them. If we had someone listening to the station, we could make note of when they played it and then stop requesting for a while after. Doing otherwise is just... obvious.

^ That's a cool idea, but I don't know how organized we can get. Something like that we'd probably have to set up a twitter feed or something to get people on board at the same time.
