this is wonderful news. she will be back in the top 10 of the weekly charts for sure. i think this will be the 6th non consecutive week that SCV2 will be inside the top 10.
i think it re-entered the top 10 due the NHK special broadcast of her interview with the host j-wave (i can't remember his name). SCV2 also rebounded in itunes japan where her album zoomed to #3 i think from #14. it is still in the top 10 last i checked (#6)...i wonder how many digital copies it has sold so far? i'm pretty sure it is the best selling album in itunes since it was released last November. all the best for Utada. i hope her album hangs in there until Ashita no joe airs (thinking show me love not a dream will instantly become a hit due to the series). |

Just in case anyone still cares about this, after 2 months SCV2 is still on the top 10 on the Oricon Daily Charts (althgough there was that one time it went down to #11, iirc):

on related news, can't wait 'til christmas zooms up from #7 to #2 in billboard japan hot 100! she was blocked from the #1 position by kaela kimura's a winter fairy is melting a snowman (what a ridiculous song title if you ask me). her rise was attributed to strong digital sales of the single (it was #1 in itunes japan for the entire week or so) but now that the holidays are over, downloads are dropping and the song may not get a chance to capture the top position anymore (damn that Kaela :) ). Although it is important to point out that 'winter fairy' has the advantage of having a physical release as opposed to 'cant wait' which is only a digital single (hence it cannot chart in oricon singles charts). utada 'only' has 2 number one singles in billboard japan hot 100 - fight the blues and goodbye happiness.

yikes! ayumi selling just over 180,000 copies of her latest studio labum! it is the holiday season and she could only sell this much? the era of big selling divas might truly be over (utada opened with her lowest numbers and now ayumi...)
