I guess just about any fanmade cover would be better than the real thing - at least you did much better job than those that actually got paid for it. I bet you worked harder on it, too :D

THAT is awesome. Details the song nicely. It starts out dark kinda and mysterious in the beginning and this pic does it justice

wow...it's a great remake of the cover! It's simple yet elegant. It emphasizes Utada's face and the title of the single. Even the title of singles's color blends very well with the dark background :D

Actually I'm not darkening the outside.
What I did is erasing the hoodie with photoshop's erase tool then add some transparnt area in utada's face to blend it with the background which is same color with Utada's hair and change the image's contrast, brightness, and saturation. It's simple!

Then I choose the font with old style one. Then give it same color with Utada's cheeks.

that's legit.

i don't have photoshop, but i'd like to try my hand at recreating the cover art too...it wouldn't work well in a paint document, would it?

hmm i have to disagree on this... it looks like the book cover of twilight! hehehehe.. (w/ the apple one).... and yeah the editing was so easy...... i can do that on just a blink of an eye... much poorer than the original
