"Japan?s MyCom Journal has confirmed that Utada will once again helm the theme song to the upcoming Evangelion film ?Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance,? set for release in Japan on June 27th, 2009. The as yet untitled track will be a follow up to Utada?s 2007 Japanese hit ?Beautiful World,? which was the theme song to ?Evangelion 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone.? No release date or other details for the single/song have been announced."  |

I was honestly expecting Maaya Sakamoto to do the theme since she'll be in the movie as the new character, but COOOOOOL! I can't wait!  |

oooh i wonder if she will end up doing the theme songs for all the movies? that wuld be cool lol i watched the evangelion series before. i wanted to watch the movies but i'll wait til they all come out. gosh i'm gonna be waiting a rlly long time

I can't wait! and since the movie is going to be released in June 27th their is a chance the single will be out around that date! :D

Paradiseisland, thanks for the info. Evangelion and Utada Hikaru are good combination. I like Eva and Hikki. I can't wait for this movie.

Beautiful World came out three days before the first Evangelion movie did. Using this, we can predict that the new song/single might be out three days before the movie on June 27. So the date would be June 24, a Wednesday, when most music is released.

ooh so theres two singles now?
awesome!!!EDIT: it still might be 9 sai no omoide, and the song wont get officially released until august. remember how sanctuary came out with kingdom hearts a few years ago but didnt get offcially released til TITO dropped? i think thats wuts gonna happen here, but we'd only be waiting a couple of months nd not years |
