Well...I've been self-teaching Japanese lately...XD
And so far, I've been going OK. I was wondering whether anyone knew where I could buy some JP literature to read. It can be translated or non-translated (by translated I mean with the original text AND the translation =P)...and no romaji books please. Those scare me to death with their ugly English words of doom. O_O >.> <.< Just wondering. XD And also, does anyone know where I can attend Japanese classes for an OK fee? And don't tell me to take the credit course. I'd really prefer not to. >.> (They move at a snail's pace, and I don't really like being bored...) So...that's all. ^^ Thx in advance! |

Well I just think it's really that you're teaching yourself. I'm trying to do the same, but it's not going so well. But I really can't help with the other stuff. But I'll let you know if I find anything out.

I taught myself for a while, and then I did study abroad in Japan and got about a college semester out of it.
If anyone is interested, I can scan my level 1 book. It was designed specifically for the class I took and is relatively hiragana and katakana free. I warn you, there are many of my scribblings and bibblings throughout. Let me know! Cheers! |

Wow! I would really appreciate it! ^_~
Of course, as was mentioned, if it's too much work, don't feel obliged to. -___-' I'd feel bad if you went too much out of your way just to scan those. >.> But, whether you end up doing so or not, thanks a lot for your input and offer! ^^ |

Lols. I knew they wouldn't be cheap...(*thinks about long airplane trip*)
But, I've been doing OK so far...I've basically gotten all the verb tenses, conditionals and (most of) the particles down. I'm really only missing actual experience, which is why I wanted some lit. ^_~ Of course, it never hurts to review, so...>.> And, just as a note, it's much easier to remember kanji when you already know Chinese ^^ (although, the on and kun readings are still a disaster. Honestly, they really don't sound much like their Chinese counterparts. Yes, even when they're supposed to. I forget how to read them all the time. I'm just like [Chinese pronunciation] suru...XD) |
