yeah, same ^

i find all of my friends saying 'Hey, have you heard of Utada??' i dont think they know her name is Hikaru/Hikki! (they all same you-tada btw)

I know it's ootada, but I can't get used to saying it like that. for a long time, I thought it was yootada, and when I found out it wasn't, I still couldn't get used to saying it like that. so now, I just call her Hikki!

i say it as "ootada"..

& i think it's the proper way of saying it...

if you could see the alphabet or their pronounciation of letters in japanese the "yutada"pronounciation is spelled "yutada" too..like "yutari" or "yuki"

vowel sounds are clearly spoken in their language, though sometimes the vowel "u" is not pronounced when placed at the end of a word like: "gozaimasu" - it is read as "go-say-mas"...

get it?!....

but if you prefer her name to be pronounce the other way around, i suggest that we call her "hikki" or "hikaru" instead...besides that's really her first name anyway....

it's like Namie's namie it's said "Namiya (Nam-ee-ya)" i saw a video of a Hikki inerview and i remeber her saying "OOtada Hikaru" and i though she said it wrong

its ootada, but im used to Utada cause it sounds more cool.
if you think about Naruto and Sasukes name, its Oochiha and Oozumaki.

I used to say you-tada until I read it was supposed to be said oo-tada. I still slip up sometimes though.
