I don't think the Japanese have such titles for artists like we do. I've never heard anything like that mentioned.

Enka music is a kind of traditional music. It's hard to compare it with anything you lot might know, but if you have parents who occasionally like pulling out really old and daggy records and playing them, then you'll get the idea. Only middle-aged to elderly people listen to it nowadays.

Imagine a middle-aged woman in a kimono singing very old Japanese songs with old Japanese stringed instruments being played alongside.

Possibly if you search Youtube or Google video you'll find some. If you can read Japanese on your computer, cut and paste out of the following into either site for best results:
