i give her major props for that

lol, youngest in the top 30...She has to be the youngest on the list. About a third of the people are geezers, another third are well into their careers, and a lot of people I don't know. But I looked everyone in front of hikki, they are all old people, like at least 50 old, well flippers guitar is not, and maybe 1 of the male j-pop singers, but I think everyone else is like 50.

Hikki is 1 year older than me, both shiina and ayu-chan are like 29, I think. I think they are the closest in age to her. If they redid this when hikki is 29, I think she will be higher on the list. hyde (larc en ceil) is 38, gackto is not even on the list...

I checked everyone on the list I ever heard mentioned (meaning they are probably current) and they were all old people 30+ shiina and ayu-chan are the closest and they are after her on the list, 36 and 42 respectively.

I'm not sure but I think the list has to do with how they contributed to music as well. Ayu-chan hasn't really contributed to music that much. She sells because she is a "carisma singer" not because she was important to the music scene.

I can only speak for the artists I know on the list.

ymo created techno-pop in japan

flipper's guitar created shibuya-kei

utada introduced japan to R&B

shiina ringo is probably one of the most innovative ladies in rock, plus writes her own music

cornelious was in flippers guitar and is doing experiment/avant garde music these days

namie amuro was on top before ayu-chan... I guess thats why she is lower, but she is doing hip-pop these days (I'm not sure)

I'm not sure what judy and mary did but I know YUKI was the main singer for them and her voice is very nice.

I'm glad most the the people I liked were above hyde and luna sea, lol. Well I guess I didn't prove my point. I have no idea why ayu-chan is so low...
